“Waaah, people played a seasonal game for a couple weeks and moved on until the next season”
Do people genuinely not realize that this is how Diablo III seasons go, and Path of Exile Leagues? Huge rush of people for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, about 50% of players leave. After 4 weeks another 50% of players leave. After 6 weeks, another 50% of the remaining players leave. Etc, until the game is a ghost town. Then, new league, new excitement, renewed interest, huge crowd, dominates Twitch and then… people fall off until next season.
Welcome to modern gaming. Most live-service games are approached seasonally now. I don’t see why people don’t understand this. Do people really expect players to play a Classic WoW season for… years…? I like the race to 60. I like pre-raid gearing. I like the early raid progression when we’re all in rares/greens and competing on parses. After Rag dies, I’m out. That’s the end for me. I’ve done what I wanted to do, had a fun 3-4 weeks, and it’s off to another game.

SoM died early mostly due to two things 1.) It had a set end date instead of progressing on to TBC and eventually wrath (despite the fact they did transfers to wotlk) and 2.) it invalidated most raid content early with early release of pvp honor gear.
A second SoM would have to avoid killing itself off again.
i’m still on the board of SOM failed due to releasing right on the tail of TBC release
it’s hard to just “re-do” everything you just completed when a shiny new expected release comes out. if they released it during BT/SSC it wouldve been significantly more popular

Lol imagine a multi billion dollar company not being able to provide the same service that a few “criminals” can offer. You are the definition of shill.
Som was incredibly popular at the start, there was even loads of full raiding guilds full of raid ready 60s. People who didn’t play som don’t realise how much the som changes killed off the playerbase at the end game. Most servers were full or high pop months into the game and only started dying when everyone realiser how tryhard the made mc to complete. You literally needed to farm a minimum 8 hours as a caster every week for mc.

Def only want classic wow and/or classic wow with a surprise classic + after It. Limited ptr work to avoid people clearing in one night as easy of you make changes to certain raids to make difficult… i only want classic wow i do not pay got anything else at blizzard
I also didn’t play SoM, so I’m curious about the second. How long is each phase? I don’t have any friends to play with, so I’m wondering if there might be a way to find others to group up with for Season 2 (if and when it happens).
i hope they do like classic + stuff in the new season
Yes, but blizzard should logically speaking release it about 4-5 weeks after ulda(so people can gear with badges). Now as for the season people are talking about classic plus and given people talking of it means we might get it. But to have classic plus there might be something that would need to draw people away from wrath.
Hard mode raids are not enough, maybe 2 difficulty modes, a permanent classic plus server, and tbc talent trees.
You are just asking for an entirely new game. That’s not what we asking for
