So about 100 players realllly want RP or RP-PvP. I mean… I don’t care what Bliz does but lets keep the number of servers minimalized. Granted the 100 who posted on this thread do not represent the totality of people who will likely play in an RP-PvP server but the REASON there was success with RP servers is because of the hundreds of servers there was only ONE… so It’s a simple supply and demand scenario.
There’s enough of you here. Organize and make a home some place… 50 horde and 50 alliance is enough to start a guild and grow it into something great.
But if you get an RP-PvP there needs to be 1 less PvP/PvE to keep things tight
And for non pvp RP, use the normal server in your zone.
If you only have 1 server for each type ppl cant pay for a transfer to another one. Thats moneyloss 101.
Also layering is ultra trash
RP-PVP server please!! Even a regular ol’ RP server would be nice. This may only be a year and expected to be more intense than before, but there will still be a LOT of downtime and there is a thriving RP community in this game still who would love a home to make use of it, in our special way. I would not have stayed with Classic if not for the great RP community on Grobbulus.
They need to just turn 2 of the pvp servers into rppvp servers. Would leave 1 east and west cost pvp server and 1 east and west rppvp server, and then do the same with the pve servers. Honestly don’t know why they didn’t do this to start.
Nobody plays RP servers. That would be completely disproportionate to the player base for Vanilla wow SoM. I’m sure there is a primary reason that there are no RP servers… this is it.
Which are no longer enforced.
Are you sure about that? You know that one of the top 4 most played servers in NA on Classic and TBC is a rppvp server…That statement is just factually wrong.
Burden of proof is on you my friend. If you think it is ‘wrong’ then go crunch the numbers. How many total servers are there? what was the average population in the first 2 months of Classic on each? How many of those servers hosted RP or RP-PvP and compare that number as a % of the total people online playing wow?
So “factually wrong” is actually just you rigging the polls. If i were to dead recon i’d say probably only 5% (being generous) of the population play COMBINED on RP / RP-PvP and in order to justify just ONE RP or RP-PvP server there would have to be a demand for a total of 20 ‘Full servers’ (19 non-RP for every 1 RP) And there is only 3 west coast 3 east coast and 2 australia? not even 10 total servers being proposed based on the no doubt calculated expectations on Bliz’s end.
So you’d get 1/2 a server?? to make the generous guestimation of 5% of the player base wanting to RP… and they can just pile into any server and act out their stories.
I’m not saying that Bliz can’t make an RP I’m saying that it’s not justified to make one for 100 maybe 200 people? The community can organize HERE in these kind of posts and pick a server… like I’ve been saying: Barman Shanker and just RP with us
Yes, lol. Especially Vanilla
https://ironforge.pro/population/tbc/?locale=US There you go.
Grobbulus has 11k active players, and that’s just 1 server. what are you talking about? Where did you come up with 100-200 players? Are you just pulling numbers out of thin air?
Your statement, “no one plays on rp servers” is just wrong.
Your comment shows that you do not play on rp server and don’t understand why people want them. All you did is come up with some random number and make a blanket statement showing your ignorance to the subject.
Most people on rp servers don’t rp anyways. People play on them because general speaking the community on rp server is more mature. So are you right that a very small portion of the community doesn’t rp? Sure, but that is not why they are popular. You are against something that you don’t even understand while also pulling random numbers from who knows where.
Also what is your end goal here? Changing a pvp server to rppvp isn’t going to take anything away from the way YOU play the game, but will add something that a large community would enjoy.
Also please stay on topic, the only reason I replied to you in the first place is because you said
Because it seems like you are trying to argue “not a lot of people play rp servers compared to normal server”, but that is not at all what you said to start and if that is what you meant in the first place maybe you should try and word your comments better because “Nobody plays on RP servers.” is factually wrong.
If RPers want a “Dead realm” let them have it. Nobody said “Launch an RP realm it will be the most popular realm ever!”
It’s just a community that has existed in every iteration of WoW to still have their place to play without Hunguschungus taking off their pants and spouting the N-word in the middle of a guild meeting.
I think Grobbulus was pretty litt in classic
Ok, so thank you for this link… you LITERALLY just gave me the fuel to completely prove that I am 100% correct.
Not only did I dead recon the EXACT percentage (5%) I did it based on old dead server information.
So maybe you do not comprehend what it is that I am saying…
There are 215,814 players TOTAL from Classic wow with only 11,030 total players who are on RP/RP-PvP servers.
So to simplify: the percentage of players that actually want to play on RP/RP-PvP servers is only 5 % of the total number of people playing on all wow servers. Again, I’m just a genius and didn’t even do the math the first time and proved myself correct with your link (because you could not ‘prove’ that I was wrong you actually wound up proving that I am 100% correct)
So understand that you look foolish for saying I’m ignorant.
220 (…) 11
_____ = _____
100 (…) X
Do the math. Solve for “X”
the answer is 5%
“Nobody” plays RP that is a generalization but it’s more or less accurate to say.
My point is simply that it’s not justifiable from a business perspective to allocate resources for just 5% of the community. The cost benefit ratio is 4 to 1. They would have to spend 4x the amount per server to house the average subscriber to the game.
I’m right.
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t care or understand RP community. I enjoy RP and encourage everyone to come play with me and RP on a gasp PvP server Barman Shanker, Alliance.
We’ve got a good guild of players and are RP and casual friendly. Some are going for R14 and a lot of us will be raiding MC/Ony and getting some really fun gear.
I’m not opposed to you getting an RP realm. I hope you get one. But you don’t have to only do what Bliz ‘tells’ you by making RP servers.
There won’t be one, good luck sitting in the closet.
Yeah, it sounded like a really fun place.
I’m not even going to read what you said because you are arguing about something you did not say. I’ll repeat myself. You said
and
I replied saying that that is not true and then provided information to show that you are wrong. Now you are completely changing topics from “Nobody plays RP server.” to “A lot more people play normal server.” I know this, everyone knows this. You can’t just change your talking point and then claim “I’m right” that’s not how this works.
Yea and it had tons of players on it as far as I can remember.
Honestly it’s fine if you don’t understand.
I made a statement that was correct. You said it was not correct. I said burden of proof is on you. (you did well you linked the raw data) and I proceed to back up my statement.
My ‘talking point’ did not change. I made an overgeneralization that was in fact true. It may have helped you for me to be more accurate and say the VAST MAJORITY of players who pay subscription fees do not nor do they care to RP. 95% of the player base does not do RP.
In any event. I’m not your enemy. Just explaining why bliz is justified in not providing any RP servers for SoM
You do realize that in classic 1.0 launch there also was no RP-PvP server originally and it took excessive asking on social media and forums to get one going. Grobbulus did really well.
