I have come across a method that allows players to reobtain any of the ranking gear that blizzard took away with the recent update. This means people who got the rank 12/13 gear can get it back without having the proper rank required. I know this method has been shared in the ranking discords.
I will not state how to do it unless blizzard does something to address the population problem in all NA servers besides jom gabbar, IE add in server transfers or link servers like era. Please address this problem or you will have more people running around in high rank gear.

Not hostage, using a bug for some leverage to help the community. Only way to get blizzard to actually respond and check your threads these days. I tried to report the ranking bug over a week before it got fixed and noone acknowledged my post.

I imagine it has something to do with vendoring the gear and then buying it back after a while
