Season of Discovery: Night Elf Rebellion

Those of highborne status maybe, if anything the more common night elven ones bristled from their capital’s discrimination as much as anyone else and had at worse an indifferent outlook on the other races.

Waifu and I went on a trip and when we got back I’d forgotten about this.

Bugs owned the land that trolls inherited after killing them.

Bugs also owned Ashenvale.

If trolls cannot own lands that once belonged to bugs as their own ancestral land, neither can nelves.

Lol.

Didn’t the Titans kill the bugs, or at least force them into hibernation?

Then the trolls woke them up after having unknowingly built a troll Empire on top of what used to be the Black Empire.

Of course the entire ethos of the Black Empire was might makes right and to the victor goes the spoils, so according to them whoever currently holds power in Azeroth deserves it.

Trolls had a giant war with the bugs afaik.

They did. But this was after the Titan-forged races had already forced them into hibernation. So it was less a case of trolls kicking the bugs out of their homes and more the trolls invoking squatter’s rights

History has a very simple answer.

Whoever has the land owns it.

Whoever disputes the ownership can try either diplomacy or force.

The second option is the name of this game.

Someone made the claim that you can’t take any troll land except zandalari because it doesn’t count as theirs due to bugs.

They were in favor of Ashenvale being natural night elven land despite having previous ownership.

I am pointing out the double standard in their logic.

Not entirely true, there are letters from southerners foaming at the mouth at the idea of combining industrialization and slavery, especially considering that workers unions had already started to become a thing with industrialization in the north.

There was a lot of thought about using slaves in factories. It was tried. Just never worked out as well as paid workers.

It was their land they had the right to do that. It is not the problem of the trolls when foreign invaders come kicking and try to conquer what was never theirs. That was with the elves at least.

The Aqir were defeated for many thousands of years before that.

Looking like everyone else does not mean representing the feelings of the general populace.
