Season of Discovery end game shows the problems with min-max community

SoD was very fun the first week or two. Absolutely an amazing experience.

Then came the GDKP’s
Then came the WSG premades.
Then came the boosting.

This is all to enhance the experience of people who buy gold, make real money from the game, and elitest gate-keeping players.

It is so unfortunate that Blizzard does not protect the integrity of its games anymore, because it was truly such a fun experience at first. Now, I can’t even look at chat without seeing people selling summons, selling boosts, GDKPs, WSG premades.

If I want to raid, it would be stupid to not do GDKPs when payouts are 50-100+ gold per character.

If I want to level a new toon, it would be stupid to not do a couple GDKPs; get 50-100g per character for a few lockouts for some chinese gold-selling mage to boost me.

If I want to do WSG, it would be stupid not to join a premade because if I don’t, I know I will get matched with a premade and inevitably lose.

So could I ignore all of these things and try to play the game naturally? Sure, but it would be stupid to do so; and I would have to make myself ignorant. This is what the playerbase is going through right now, and I believe it is all intentional. Blizzard knows if they can get everyone buying gold, it will give them a reason to put in the WoW token sometime this season, or for future seasons. This is NOT an accident.

Imagine back in 2018 when we were talking about classic. If we knew by the time WOTLK hit, we would have WoW tokens and $60 level 80 boosts; there would have been an outrage. This step by step lack of integrity of the game is sad. Anyone defending this is either being willfully ignorant, profiting from it, or a Blizzard shill.

Nuff said. I know you can do better Blizz.

Ban GDKPs.

What server you play on by chance?

It is definitely most prevalent on Crusader Strike where the most of my characters are.

I see it on the other servers too though, not nearly as much though.

It’s not really a defense though to say to play on a less populated server. It shouldn’t be a wild-west of P2W on the most populated server.

So nuke Crusader Strike. Got it.

Haha, I do not think that would solve the problem unfortunately. However, I would support it. It would be so funny to see everyone who bought all their progress lose it instantly. I wouldn’t mind re leveling my toons for Phase 2, Level 25 was easy.

So you rolled on a streamer server and complaining about streamer server things? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I agree, nerf ret paladins.

This is not a defense though. I only rolled on CS because of what happened back in 2019 with Classic servers. I intentionally avoided streamers for Classic 2019 and my server failed.

I agree, buff shamans.

ehh it’s realistically half that at best, a lot of the BFD loot is garbage and since it’s easily cleared by fresh 25s in greens there’s not as much interest .

lol i play horde CS and ally living flame. Living flame has 10x the amount of GDKP and the gold buying is so rampant there useless things like lesser moonstones are selling for 40s where on CS they sell for 6s.

might be a bit hyperbolic. Unless there’s a couple epics that whales are bidding up a 50 - 100g payout is pretty rare. Even on streamer GDKPs payouts are typically 15-20g

Isn’t Living Flame another server where other streamers went to?

Just because streamers roll somewhere does not make the conduct of this kind of activity okay. Why are you so defensive of this behavior on “streamer servers”

especially when historically, we see that streamer servers are the only ones that are alive at the end of day.

Get a grip kiddo.

I will say from my own anecdotal experience. Alliance are willing to throw gold at anything compared to the horde side. Trinket selling for 200g on Alliance, epic staff selling for 30g on horde. If I wanted to make the most amount of gold I would just milk alliance players and transfer it over

There’s an undeniable correlation. You said it yourself that CS is highly populated and due to people following streamers it would make sense for gold sellers/buyers to be more heavily represented on such servers.

So you can bury your head in the dirt and deny this, but the GDKP/Inflation/Bots is due to people buying gold. And several streamers advocate and even buy gold themselves.

CS has those issues whereas Chaos Bolt (Made because people did not want to play on a server with streamers) does not.

I understand this. I pointed this out in my original post. Are you blind?

Then why would you think I thought streamers made the issue okay? I’m agreeing with you >_>;; Not sure where the hostility came from.

This is a lie, I have toons on CB. There is gold buying and GDKPs there as well.

The problem isn’t GDKP’s the problem is with the PUG meta and the sway away from a consistent player basis of guildies who defeat (which is how the game was intended) the content together week on end and get everyone geared up and having the loot evenly be distributed.

With the current difficulties and requirements for raiding, It’s also not fun pugging in MS>OS runs, with partial guild runs or a bunch of apes who need on everything and /trade loot to their friends/guildies or need on items they don’t really need.

GDKP’s and Soft Res runs are by far the most fair PUG systems due the facts mentioned above. GDKP’s bring in raiders who will assist a raid to get down while not needing on gear and still be rewarded for it.
