I hope phase 4 “looks pretty good” when its released.
There was no event for cataclysm. At least none that I remember anyways it was a common complaint back then too.
wowhead even did a guide on it expecting it to come

This is more than a bit disheartening. Some of the player base doesn’t want to play Cata, and that’s fine. Others do, and that’s fine too. However, making one group suffer for the other is a bit crazy. I understand not being able to provide exact dates, but the way this reads, it seems like P4 will be several months away, which is rough.
You’ve done somewhat of a good job managing the classic community, but there have been significant missteps. WOTLK was on the way out when you dropped SOD, and there have been multiple blunders since. One of the biggest issues was giving us only 11 days’ notice for P3. Additionally, many servers were killed or locked, causing guilds to transfer and die just days before the phase began. The incursions were so broken that they were nerfed countless times, and the tuning for ST was comical. Now, you’re asking people to wait even longer in some of the stalest content that has been produced.
I have high hopes for P4, but with each passing day, it seems like SOD, Cata, MoP, or retail are just about maintaining subscriptions and hoping we’ll play the next release. Recently I’ve been debating pausing my subscription due to the lack of content in SOD, and this post helps me lean towards that decision. I wish nothing but the best for the dev team and the community, but until there’s more content, there’s not much reason to play.

elephant in the room is the huge drop in pop and small guilds dealing with the 20man raid roster decision. without acknowledging a failure there and how incursions hurt the game, i cannot care about sods future. bad post and bad decisions

this is terrible…u basically saying atleast another month of this crap, its the worst phase yet and everyone is done with it and you want to make it longer?? wtf who cares if its close to cata launch, most people dont care and wont touch cata, what we do care about is moving on with SoD into 60 finally, stop ruining SoD, you already massively inflated the economy with incursions more then GDKP ever could and yet still keep it banned when theres a good percentage of the player base(the better percentage) who prefers raiding that way, im not renewing sub until phase 4 along with many others who already have stopped

I think SoD is extremely well-balanced. Shamans definitely too much AoE damage, maybe Enhancement does too much single-target damage, but overall there’s not much to complain about. SoD follows Classic balance pretty closely.
Idk how I feel about “focusing on balancing” when balance is pretty damn good. I’d rather just see more content.

This announcement just killed SoD, a july release for max level most likely. I have a hard time logging in once a week as is. A lot of people feeling the same way.

Looks like I’ve got plenty of time to level and find runes for my warlock. I’m not mad. As long as they’re taking time to get it right that’s fine by me!
