Season of Discovery Developer Update - Feb 27, 2024

Double the loot, make it one lockout

Eww, no. I don’t want more loot, I want to play the content.

At most I would see 3-day replaced with 3.5 day like we have on Retail.

Guess what
? SoD is NOT vanilla
you want vanilla, go play era

My guild would definitely love to see 10man content in the endgame being as rewarding as other raid sizes. Maybe we could scale raids and allow them to be played with different numbers of players so that people have the option to approach it how they like. 10man raids have been the best part of SoD so far for me

That’s what 40-mans are supposed to be. Big raids are not supposed to be real raids. FF14 has already solved this. Real raids are 8 man and casual raids are 24 man. EZ clap.

Posting on a retail toon and talking about moving off 40 player dungeons. Checks out. We also had 2 years of Classic with 40 player dungeons and that was the most successful thing Blizzard has put out with WoW in years. This is a bad take.

40 man raids made sense back in the day, but now it’s just too much to pull together. I think SoD is being set up to be a more chill experience, and I think that the raids should reflect that. I also know a lot of people want the 40 man raids. My best solution if possible (as that’s the keyword, what’s possible), would not be a flex raid but just having two options, one to set it to 20 man, and another to set it to 40 man.

I don’t know how you guys are planning on handling loot in 20 man raids such as MC, if there will be less loot dropping or the same amount, but just having the same amount would make it more chill too as you can gear your group faster, and spend less time on the grind so you have time to do other things like pvp and alts and such.

Last piece of feedback I have: nerf hunters into the ground please
 LOL

Umm, I already bought 3 mounts at FULL PRICE because RIGHT BEFORE PHASE 2 you raised the prices to normal. You like bait and switched the price, its BS.

This is factually incorrect. Peak WoW was 12+ million subscriber during Cata. You are a liar.

For all those that are hating the change
want something “harder” or more like “vanilla” you can always TURN OFF YOUR ADDONS and go play era

Back in the day
you mean 2 years ago when they brought back Classic and players raided in 40 player raids for 2 years? Got it.

I would as I am sure many would, to see more questing opportunities after level cap of each phase. Maybe even tying some of those with previous zones and dungeons etc.

I think this could possibly discourage raid logging and for those that only have time to focus on one character, a better opportunity to explore and discover old and new things together!

If you bought your Mount already, consider it an EARLY ACCESS FEE.

Sincerely, Big Daddy Blizzard

Please reconsider your current path regarding Raid Size. 20 player has retail social issues that SOD has been a welcome break from with 10 man. If all that was done in this iteration of SOD was a 10 player Molten Core and future SOD iterations can work to expand that to the remainder of classic raids.

My guild is not interested in merging or recruiting, we have a group of players we would like to play with and we will die with this change.

You don’t need to force cap raids to fix roster issues.

Do not force Molten Core/Onyxia/Blackwing Lair/Temple of Ahn’Qiraj/Naxxramas into 20m caps. Just because you can bring 40 people to these raids doesn’t mean you HAVE to in order to clear it. I think the best example of this is Onyxia, a raid meant for 40 but was popular to do split runs with ~20 people.

I think you should tune and adjust loot for Molten Core so it COULD be done by about 20 people or so but let RAIDERS decide how many people they want to have in Molten Core as a player decision at the expense of loot distribution. Let players bring 40 people to a 20m raid if they want to so casuals can have less stress and more fun while more competitive players can reduce and min/max loot per player. This feels much more in the spirit of Vanilla than force capping all players into a single raid size.

“Posting on a retail toon”
bro calm down it’s just the character they had selected previously, it’s not something I think about, changing what character I’m replying as all the time
kind of dumb to really care about that no?

Like you can play retail and classic, and Sod, or any combination. Or quit retail for SoD or whatever. who cares

And those 40 man raids still exist in Classic Era. What’s the point duplicating the experience in a Seasonal server?
