Extremely happy to see the shift to 20 player raids, and would love to see all of the 40 player raids tuned down to 20 as well. The logistics of recruiting for and managing 40 player raid team are daunting for more tight-knit guilds.
Regarding other raids: Given that SoD has provided us with a very large increase in player power, won’t it be necessary to make adjustments to BWL, AQ40, etc anyway? Might as well retune them to be 20 player raids as well while you’re at it.
We want to arrive at a place where, ideally, if your guild wants to strictly stick to a smaller raid team of 20 people the rewards are compelling enough that you don’t feel “behind” a team focused on 40 player raiding.
Even if 20 player focused guilds are not losing out on gear by neglecting 40 player raids, I still think it would be a shame to miss out on the experience of running BWL in SoD.
Has there been any consideration toward just providing separate 20 player and 40 player versions, similar to 10/25 player variants in Wrath/Cata/MoP? Providing both options would be great, so that people who prefer 40 player raids can gravitate toward guilds that want to run those.
Question: Could we please have clarification on the lockout timer for the 20 player raids? Having raid resets fall on different days each week with 3-day lockouts makes organizing things very frustrating - I know a lot of folks would prefer 7-day lockouts for the consistency.
