There’s no compensation. Chimera Shot and Explosive Shot are still non-starters. Beast Mastery is the defacto spec people are playing unless you are ultra sweaty and you are doing some kind of melee weave marksman parsing.

I am totally fine with it as long as it is a player killing me and not an npc.

Nerfing priests won’t make Earth Shield not complete garbage. Healing Rain still needs bug fixes and buffs. Overload should still affect LHW. Mana still sucks for all healers besides priests and Shaman using dw rockbiter shamanistic rage.
For the next month we needed buffs to underperforming stuff more than we needed to nerf anything.

its nice seeing the power put back into the hunter and not the pets. That being said its going to be hilarious if now the hunter is super OP and gets 17 nerfs.

The NPC which is just an extension of the player. I really don’t understand the rage people get because a certain class has a NPC that does damage on their behalf. Pet classes have existed in MMO’s since the beginning. It’s not a new concept.

No hunter will ever use lone wolf because 20% agi and stam while also having a pet is far superior to a flat 15% damage buff (which is half of what the pet alone brings).

Won’t happen, Explo and Chimera do like 55 damage. Hunter is gonna be LOL.

All it takes is another pet nerf, and a buff to Lone Wolf and people will swap. I would not assume people will never use it. Especially considering Blizzard has no problem nerfing this class repeatedly.
We have no idea if the pet scaling will fall off at 40/50/60 either.
They reeled in Beast Mastery, which is a completely passive rune that only makes the pet stronger, and they buffed active abilities which the Hunter actually has to press.
Working as intended. BM pets are powerful even without rune empowered pets.

blizzard gave them an epic weapon… what did they think was gonna happen?
Need a bigger buff to chimera to make it useable. I’m okay with pets being nerfed but at least make other runes feel worth using.

You should assume people will never use it, Lone Wolf compared to 10% kings to everyone and 20% total Hunter stats isn’t comparable.

You are an npc so it’s fitting you die to one. The pet is not an npc.

You shouldn’t assume anything about later phases. A lot of Hunter’s are already reaching for Lone Wolf because they don’t like pets. All it takes is a whiff of viability and people will switch.
