Season of Discovery Class Tuning - January 11

Exactly, so any changes they make to runes in the same slot might as well not exist. I can eat a 5% difference to play how I want to play, but going down 30-40% is too much for it to even register, especially when we arent even close to the top DPS as it is.

I just have no idea how you’re a game developer that doesn’t understand that 65% of the player base is your average player. I’m not a teacher so maybe I can’t teach you 3rd grade math.

I like PvP. I raid just to have fun or help guildies and friends. I never cared about parces, I just want to do the mechanics and help the team as much as I can. PvP is where I get sweaty. But even in SoD it’s not like we have rating so it’s usually just the thrill of 1v2’s or 1v3’s.

Still, I’m an idiot who understands that catering to the top 5% of players will more than likely alienate the other 70% of players at least.

Um. Easiest to do decent with… not to maximize performance though.

All classes are easy to do decent with. Its their skill ceiling that matters. And hunter is arguably one of the hardest classes to play at the skill ceiling. For both pve and pvp.

Yeah spamming Saber Slash into Slice and Dice is so complicated and difficult to do.

I dont really think so. At least at the moment they have the lowest skill floor and a pretty low skill ceiling. You’re a ranged class with a melee pet who can cast while moving…… you don’t worry about rage or energy…… you just cast, move, and get out of fire.

I mean… to be fair classic isn’t a hard game. But managing combo points, being a melee character, and keeping energy on track is probably at least a little harder than a ranged class with a melee pet that can cast while on the move…. That utilizes mana….

Why so defensive? I wasn’t saying that at all.

If we need to run PvP builds to compete with other PvP builds, that’s perfectly reasonable. I run imp gouge, not just for hunters.

But needing cooldowns, specific builds, and macros to down a pve hunter who’s in quest greens and not particularly skilled because you have X number of seconds before lightning breath kills you is a bit much.

Hunters do good dps in no gear due to pet. Once people get gear hunter isnt top dps

Ok, but as a hunter player myself, BM was already too strong. Lightning breath on every tick of pet focus regen is insane, then to add another 30% health and damage on top of that with aspect of the lion and pets scaling with stats. It was too strong in pvp at least. It is a little weird to focus so much on the runes in the same slot but at the same time I’m just glad I have more of a reason to use chimera shot now.

Hunter is the easiest class to play. So for the average player they will still be top 3 dps.

I only see the hunters tears flooding in,
What about priest tears?

You people are morons. There is no reason to nerf BM this hard. Warriors and rogues are blowing up raids and you keep going after hunters. The game was fun but considering my go to in every wow game and xpack isn’t worth playing anymore I can be happy walking away from this.

Would have figured after 20+ years Blizzard would have learned how to balance classes by now. Keep those fists hammy I guess…

Hunters have about 6 abilities to manage. Have to manage mana to cut off using less desirable abilities to end the fight as close to oom without ooming as the fight ends, have to manage melee and ranged auto attacks (which includes moving in and out of range for melee and ranged attacks), have to position 2 units vs mechanics (and one is a dummy ai that only takes basic commands), respecting both melee and ranged mechanics, and have a non constant rotstion due to flanking strike resets upsetting the rhythm of the rotation.

Its easy to get about 60-70% of the damage a hunter is capable of with herp derp auto shot and send pet in. That last 30-40% to push for the maximum output is not easy at all.

But that can be said with literally any class. Plus this is classic so…. Easy game easy life.

facts hahaha

Says the rogue. /rofl!

Rogue is easy. Like all classic classes are. But not near as easy as hunters. Hence the nickname and stereotypes hunters have had for 20 years. They are the king of smooth brain class.

imagine being a priest and acting like you don’t deserve nerfs. puh-lease :expressionless:

Imagine being a druid and pretending you couldn’t out heal a priest.

Top performance of rogue is easier than top performance of hunter.

Both classes are easy to herp derp your way to decent damage.

We are talking the skill ceiling here. And hunter is harder than rogue there.
