Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - December 12

Warlock here, I can attest to this :*D i just dot people up and run as they chase me and watch them die, it take little effort lol

Says who? this is new content with a raid. The least we can expect is some balance. Again if you want broken outdated gameplay go back to era.

With the changes to the BFD buff, healers get no benefit from it anymore? Other than the 20% movement speed? Before we would at least get 2% spell crit but now with crit being melee/ranged specific we get no benefit.

No, some delusional paladin streamer who thinks seal twisting is the greatest thing ever has said this to cope.

SoD is turning into a disaster. Its like they learned no lessons from what happened to retail, which is a shame because since 9.2 that team has been great.

just FYI scorpid now does nothing in PVP - easy to kill in seconds - 12 dmage… lol literally has to have 5 stacks to do any thing and every class can just cc 1 stack and it doe 12 damage – yet here we have shamans nearly 1 shotting, rogues, star surge is way OP now… great balancing

Fix hunter gun not shooting thanks

The bleed is not the main damage, and it still generates combo points.

Just get a Washte Pawne from the barrens. Hunters are more OP than they were yesterday.

So I don’t understand why you have to keep messing with hunters. Our only role in the game is dps where every other class can tank or heal… Why do you have to keep nerfing them? We either dps with pets, range or melee and you just try and balance it by nerfing BM so people might use 1 of the other 2? I don’t know what the answer is but its nerfing the only thing we can do…

Fix hunter guns and ammo not working

Can we just make int give spellpower then, similar to how it does on retail? This trend of physical damage being superior to casters continues all the way through naxx with the exception of fire mages (and even then, only in naxx really). Having spellpower granted from int would go a long way toward evening the playing field, and would open up some maybe interesting gear options as viable alternatives (ex: the cloth set boots vs the crafted boots wouldn’t be an unreasonable option).

This equates to about a 25-30% damage increase if my math isn’t way off. Which is a good bump, but still leaves us substantially under every other class.

Unfortunately, changing damage numbers alone doesn’t fix the core problem with shadow priest - which is mana consumption. Mana cost of shadow spells need to be adjusted by a substantial amount, or substantial replenishment so that our mana pool can last more than 45 seconds into a fight (including a mana potion).

One option I thought could help with this is if Homunculi acted as Mindbenders - granting mana back to the priest for damage they deal. I think this is too powerful since as a leg rune, it would be abused by healing priests for essentially infinite mana, since healing spells are so much more efficient.

The other, and I think better, option I came up with is that with the Shadow Word: Death rune - Make the spell cost 0 mana, and if the target does not die, you gain mana equal to 2x the damage you take from the backlash. This also would prevent healing priests from using the rune for mana regen, since the most potent and efficient heals (Penance and Circle) share the same rune slot.

We literally get the Hunter Pets to Tank Lord Kelris in BFD, having one 2nd on highest threat literally absorbs all his Mind Blast making the whole encounter trivial. They are insanely Tanky and can take so much, one Hunters Scorpid had just under 2800 HP when we fully buffed it.

Although now with the changes might have to use a different strat, guess we will find out tonight!

some updates are better than no updates

The pet was a fantastic tank on kelris and akumai. Kelris couldn’t even hurt it. Akumai we did tank swaps with it and a Paladin and would just let a pet die with like 11 stacks and never clear the stacks in pools so no add spawns.

Good thing I’m not a hunter. I would’ve unsubbed by now. Nerf druids & I won’t hesitate to unsubscribe rather than go through what hunters are going through.

Few healer balance questions/requests please and thank you.

When do we get Healer Mail gear?

We desperately need healer Mail and later Plate for HPals. Right now healing in Cloth mostly, a bit of leather, we’re just worse Priests. Give us our Cleric fantasy back! People are quitting HPal and playing either Priest healer or Ret simply because they’re tired of no Mail/Plate healer gear.

Can Holy Pally, Shaman, and Mages get a healing buff?

We’re all abysmally low on the healing charts. I can’t speak to Shamans or Mages, but HPals could use lower mana cost on Beacon, and something else to bring our numbers up a bit.

Can we get Priest and Druid healer nerfs?

Penance and Prayer of Mending do far too much healing for too little mana. They need to be balanced for Classic and right now it’s clear they were just plucked straight out of WoTLK. Numbers need tuning.

Wild Growth is doing a bit too much as well and they’re even overtaking Priests on the logs now that the Resto Druids have figured this out.

They’d have to rebalance p much everything like they did with Cata and that’s a lot of work. The changes to int giving us sp also resulted in us having substantially more sp at low levels than was possible even in Wrath (with the buffed low level loot), so they’d have to rebalance every caster too if they wanted to keep us in a similar place.

that’s the point though - increasing spellpower from int would bring those classes up to where STR/AGI classes already ARE - and honestly, for some, it wouldn’t even be enough

Thanks for the priest buffs, should make us very strong in P2.
