Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - April 23

That’s my point. Nerfs are happening because of pvp the same as pve. P2 swd as an example 1 shotting everyone in stv,

Please take a look at buffing Improved Shadow Bolt. Remove the “5 next spells” conditional and make it last the whole 12 seconds.

This would buff both Aff Warlocks and Shadow Priests, and shouldn’t impact PvP much at all.

If I don’t see affliction on par with shadow priest damage, then I will be writing more strongly worded letters.

yep still no aoe, skull bash should have been moved to helmet, ferocious bite is worthless using not only is it better to shred, if you miss your fb it still steals your energy due to how FB works, ravage isnt worth using in stealth gore rune absolutely sucks, for the most complex rotation + PS + catnip + squishy melee and sitting middle of the pack not worth it, change gores affect for cat just make it so ferocious bite does more damage and refunds energy on a miss or something give feral cat swipe added on the fire of elune super easy fix right there for 2 of the biggest griefs i can think of

Seal twisting relies on a hidden trick (animation cancelling) that the game never teaches. Imagine the average player, excited to unleash righteous fury, left scratching their head at why they’re lagging behind others. External guides and communities become mandatory for decent performance, creating an unfair barrier to entry.
This “artificial skill gap” discourages newcomers. Veterans end up doing the same thing anyway, making gameplay monotonous. Season of Discovery should be about exploring new content, not pixel-perfect button mashing.

Without seal twisting knowledge, casual players might get unfairly excluded from endgame groups. Damage meters become a constant reminder of a gap they don’t understand. Why are they lagging? Because the game never explained a core mechanic!

The Light Club Discord seems like a cool hangout, but it’s a tiny group. Basing decisions on a vocal minority hurts the majority. Most players, even on the forums, were clueless about this Discord. Don’t alienate the masses for the sake of a select few.

This mechanic doesn’t even exist in retail WoW! Why introduce confusion in a classic experience? Let’s keep Season of Discovery accessible and enjoyable, not a test of obscure techniques. There are plenty of ways to make Paladins engaging without resorting to hidden mechanics.

that’s been in the game since phase 1 righteousness/martyr twist together and with the buff to righteousness why would you ever use command

Honestly even if they fixed FB/AoE, I still wouldn’t come back.

What they should do is offer to playstyles for cats- a low energy RIP version that provides bonus energy return for every 30s you’re in cat form, resetting if you ever shape-shift. Then a high energy FB version that benefits from powershifting

but thats only partially true. the only time SP were top 3 in pve dps was pre SWD nerf. its a doubled bladed sword argument. anything that is without a doubt absolutely broken in either PVE or PVP will catch a fat nerf regardless.

As a Warlock i get… nothing? better re-roll shadowpriest now i guess

honestly i would prefer cat to work how it does in retail i power shift because i have to to maintain relevant dps if they made it free on mana and your energy dosnt reset to 0 but stays at what it is in or out of form would be good

easily the best 1v1 class, just go affi and cover ur drain life w/ unstable (porperly) and dont let DL break via range. you will never lose a 1v1 unless your bad

Nope, I figured this out playing Era by like level level 26 by noticing the buff hung around after I changed it to a new seal and messed around with it to figure out how it worked. Once it did I leveled to 60 thinking I had some new tech that could give rets a chance after being told to quit the game and reroll hundreds of times. It didn’t help that much but I could do 500-600 DPS in Strat UD in prebis and out DPS a lot of prebis classes.

lol man back in 2019 classic i tried everything on my ret sotc seal twisting for faster hits, righteousness twists, Weapon twisting LOL slowest possible 2hander with fastest possible 2hander man i was on some next level cope i tell you what

Thank you so much for trying to get away from this fast weapon Ret. I know it wont be perfect right away but you’re trying and it makes me happy. Like buff the proc chance for SoC with slower weapons and make CS proc seals. Make it so that Wild Strikes extra swing can land the twist as well. This way, it greatly benefits in a raid setting further supporting a slow 2H playstyle.

I’m not trying to be as good as a shaman in pvp, I just want Slow weapon DEEEE. P.S.

Clearly warlocks need to have soul link buffed to 50% extra damage. How dare there exist a spec that’s only good in PvP! We must break PvP to make it great in PvE too.

Haha, yeah, I did it all trying to find viability. I did the MCP full spell power build after seeing some theory crafting. Rets are actually really powerful at some choke points during leveling and at PreBis but once raid gear enters, and classes that scale well get geared, it’s just over for Ret. I did save us wiping many many times with clutch BoPs and LoHs but that doesn’t show on the DPS meter so ret=trash to most people.

honestly even on a slower 2h I think righteousness still wins out now with the buffs/runes it’s received, esp. considering righteousness can proc on hit stuff now it can crit so vengeance uptime increases it scales with the sp gear which every piece has had on it so far like command was better in tbc because your gearing was limited to an AP playstyle but now you got like both

i saw that mcp spell power proc build but that was Way to expensive for me haha

That wasn’t my point, point is lots of classes have been nerfed due to pvp top dps or not. Same with boomies. Blizzard is nerfing because of pvp as well as pve is my point.

also i forgot to mention that in tbc command* could proc blood so you could get 2 hits it wasn’t addressed if this change to martyr will even do that
