Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - April 16

This sounds great! Our Imp will be able to use its max rank Firebolt. Not only is this a damage increase for our Imp, it will be a damage increase for ourselves and our raid when using Grimoire of Synergy and Demonic Pact.

This seems like a lot at face value. I suppose it makes some sense when you take into account the fact that Immolate and Unstable Affliction cannot be used together. The Unstable Affliction DoT does a little less damage than the Immolate DoT and it does not do any upfront damage like Immolate. There is also the fact that Immolate allows for the use of Conflagrate for burst and 30% spell haste when using Backdraft. It is a definite boost to the viability of Affliction for PvE.

This change could be worrisome for PvP. The current damage on dispel is pretty hefty and the 5 second silence is an excellent deterrent for general dispel protection. A 120% increase in damage to that part of Unstable Affliction might be kind of obscene, especially if it lands a critical strike.

I feel that a smaller increase to Unstable Affliction damage and an increase to Haunt’s shadow damage effect would be healthier for PvE and PvP.

I honestly think the only people on forums are those who also play retail, or quit retail to play classic. They’ve become that naggy spouse that nitpicks all the time because they expect their partner to make them happy, without realizing they are incapable of being happy.

Beastmaster pet are just as stupid, doesn’t mean a single DoT should do over 100% of someone’s health.

MD does not compensate for the complete lack of cc from the felguard + sacrificing the dispel protection from UA. If fel guards had axe toss it might be more competitive of a choice, but spell lock and felhunter dispel is just way too strong.

Pretty sure you can delete that rune and no pally would care. Most of us didn’t even waste time getting it

Changes to Warrior make open world farming a little more tolerable, Hopefully we can see some more QoL changes to Warrior in the 60 end game to bring more synergy to the class and add some spice to some underwhelming runes… Blood Frenzy for instance.

Just click your 2 balanced dots on the pet, it will die because it doesn’t get increased healthpool in BGs.

If you’re having trouble killing shamans as a mage… I got bad news for you son.

Half the time it doesn’t even work and bgs are full of shamans that just purge it. Oh and it’s a huge damge loss picking that rune

Aggrend assumes everyone gets mad because their not the top class on WCL. So he ignores the people that have a problem with some runes just feeling underwhelming or having no synergy in their current slot or the class feeling stale. There’s runes that are so bad or could just be changed to make things more fun and less of a pain.

I am sure Lock and Load for range hunter would be more fun if it only procced off flame trap (10s internal CD) and made Aimed shot cast 50% faster or something, rather than having to toss down both Traps constantly to keep proccing it.

That’s just one small example of things that would feel like a nice QoL change to make it a bit more fun less micro manage and Aimed Shot more PvE viable. I can think of more runes for other classes that could use more love, but we have to let the Devs cook and take the feedback as they do.

it was doing less damage than immolate, and you can only use one or the other

We’re not talking about in a bg, we’re talking about open world pvp that happens while questing. Felguard has a stun btw, and if you come across a lock using the demo/affliction build, 9/10 times they’re going to have that felguard out. And most people will probably lose to a soul link felguard lock if they aren’t ready for it. That build is really strong for solo pve content.

Please consider making this change a 66% reduction in damage instead of a 66% reduction in frequency that it deals damage. It’s more fun (like druid’s thorns on aoe pulls) to see numbers pop up all the time, and also makes the threat and damage more consistent. Thank You!

This. Whoever says they buff rogue doesn’t remotely know rogue.

I am talking world PvP too. Having fel hunter out is so much better is virtually every scenario.

Warrior and rogue is only matchup where it’s useless but you have to be a special kind of bad to lose to those classes as soul link anyway.

9/10 they are meta too and it’s a meme in PvP. Soul link + haunt is the way to go if you know what you are doing.

Came to see if there was any worthwhile Paladin changes.

how about actually fixing the Darkmoon card: overgrowth to work on target heals instead of just yourself…
