As the title states, 10M raids are amazing. Nothing is cooler than running through the raid with a group of your actual fiends and having a blast! I really hope to see blizzard stick to the 10M raid size going forward.
10m is nice, and they should use it for the level up raids and on a 3d lockout.
But the actual raids should stay 40m especially if they add a new raid after Naxx.
I will now only refer to them as fiends. Thank you for the chuckle.
I think 20 man would be optimal. 40 man is a nightmare that usually results in guild mergers.
its nice because less competition for loot, thats the only reason its nice lets be honest
Yea I mean my point being who is actually friends with all 39 or 24 other people that they raid with. 10M just has a more close knit personal feel. In a 10M you can have everyone contribute to callouts and be talking without voice comms becoming flooded, but 25 and 40 mans cant do that in the same way.
Honestly, i dont think there is a singular “best” size. It all depends on the raid. Molten core and AQ would kinda suck as a 10 man. BFD would suck as a 40. It varies and the scale of what the raid is trying to do matters
I kind of agree. 20mans have always been my favorite, and I wish they had more 10 man dungeons like UBRS. I figure the current 40 mans will remain 40. I’m guessing the new lv60 raid will be 10man Kara. If I could pick new content I would like to see an 5-10 man dungeon tied to AQ, and a 5-10 man dungeon tied to Naxx. Also, any troll content. ZG was awesome. Would love a dungeon and/or 10-40man raid tied to them.
No, they really shouldn’t. The days of 40 mans are long gone.
Yes they should, the days of 40 man are the best.
I agree with this, but I think they should also have a place for those who want to do 40 man. 10-40 flex raiding, and everything in between is the best solution to please everyone.
Having raided in FFXIV since its ARR remake, I have to say that there is definitely something to be enjoyed about smaller, more tightly organized raid design where individual contribution is weighted more heavily, and I think it’s well complimented by this version of the game where mechanics are simple and trivial to telegraph but are punishing enough to force you to respect them.
I’m cool with all of the 40-Man raids staying in the game as they are, but with this being Season of Dads I feel like we’ll end up seeing far more raid participation if the developers focus the newly developed content within the 10-20 Man format.
I desperately hope they rework all the 40 mans into 10 man raids, 20 at absolute max. Who the heck has time or energy to herd 39 cats into a consistent roster on an ephemeral server?
Let this be the season of not letting raiding become a full time job.
I agree with this post /10
maybe new raids will be 10 man but they aren’t downsizing any of the current raids ![]()
Let’s revisit that comment at 60 shall we?
retail beckons ![]()
Agree completely. 10 man raid size is exactly right
And because you can form a group of your actual friends and complete content instead of a couple of friends and 30+ randoms.
they’re not “randoms”. they’re supposed to be your dang guildmates ![]()
Yeah, who are often not people you actually know, in real life. You don’t form a guild of 40 of your actual friends.
I’ve been screwed over by “guild mates” more than randoms throughout my time in this game (excluding original Vanilla). Guilds are just randoms under a arbitrary banner
The point is that you can complete content with your friend group now and that is awesome.
