Its the PVE equivalent to Honor, not Conquest. You cannot purchase items with Valor so there is absolutely no reason to cap it. It makes people less likely to run lower keys and stifles the overall M+ activity. Can someone give a real reason as to why this is the case?
Breadcrumbing and timegating so your playtime metrics rise every new week. It’s a flawed design. Some specs have many different stat prios for ST and AOE along with multiple specs to fully upgrade gear for. Capping it is proof they don’t play their own game. Makes zero sense. Feels good that once I’m capped it shows how much valor I’m getting yet I’m capped so it’s going to waste. I seriously don’t get their forced manipulation on things like this.
I mean, I’m not sure that people would me MORE inclined to run lower keys if it was uncapped, anyway. The rewards are still better in higher keys, but if someone was in a hurry to upgrade a drop and had ksm they might.
Valor system is fine.
Time-gated Valor is a simulation of gear progression.
I will say that I would prefer if we had Justice Points and Valor Points separately, because it feels bad to replace a 252 weapon with a 255 weapon, then a 259 weapon, then a 262 weapon, all because it isn’t ever worth spending Valor on anything below 262, but eh.
It isn’t really the end of the world to me personally. It is what it is, it is what we’ve dealt with for like a year now, we know Blizzard will eventually uncap the system, etc.
If they uncapped valor and gave you infinite upgrades wouldn’t they have to limit how much gear you can get per week as well from m+?
Can’t really compare valor to pvp, since you can infinitely farm honor but you can’t spend it due to being limited on how many conquest items you can buy per week. M+ dungeons keep dropping loot
I know I for sure would want to run more lower keys if it was uncapped. That way, when my buddies log on, or when I’m more in the mood for higher/harder keys, I can run those, possibly get a good piece, and level that piece up.
I mean, we still have that upgrade score gates to manage. So it’s not like just running low keys will get everyone 272-78 gear.
That gloriously high score gate of 2000 rating. Having timed 10s. Crazy high.
Lol. I’m actually insanely surprised Blizzard didn’t raise the upgrade threshold properly to account for the new keys.
You know people here think this is like, wildly unattainable. Not because it’s hard of course, no indeed sirreeee, just because everyone just everyone needs them to have AOTC, 4pc, 291 leggos oh, right, they also have to surrender their other kidney to the party leader.
That’s true.
So? Why would you hamstring people who just want to play the game? If youre talking progression, Ive done a test and my disc priest is mostly m+ gear and my BM hunter is mostly pvp. Both started at the same time. My PVP geared BM hunter is 268 and my disc is 261. I can provide armory if u need. Theoretically the disc should have higher ilvl.
Also then add 2 sets of currency. Justice allows you to upgrade to 262 and Valor (which is weekly capped) allows you to upgrade beyond.
But if valor was uncapped then your disc would be very high ilvl and your hunter would still be 268?
Valor isn’t an equivalent to honor because without the capped conquest gear your honor is useless. M+ provides infinite gear to spend valor on
Without the weekly cap, M+ would drop unlimited quantities of 272 gear every week. Meanwhile raids have a weekly lockout on every single boss.
okay… then read my alternate suggestion…
I’ll let you take that up with the legions screaming about “too many currencies” and “too many systems” in the game already.
I mean, I don’t have a problem with further game development, but a whole ton of people on this forum sure seem to freak out when the number of currency types exceed the number of fingers they have to count them on.
valor and justice have been in the game since burning crusade. I highly doubt a majority will complain about that. FFXIV itself has poetics and whatever the current tomestone is. No one seems to mind that.
