As season 3 comes to conclusion, statistically we’ve seen Augmentation underperform throughout the course of the season. I was disappointed to see no changes for this spec because it’ s very fun, and difficult to master. And the entirety of Season 3 while Devastation and Preservation got many rounds of buffs despite already performing stronger.
Here are my proposed ideas below to help Augmentation perform better in Dragonflight Season 4.
Most Importantly, These Quality of Life Changes (Elaboration on Changes below):
- 1. Ebon Might personal damage increase lowered to 10% down from 33% in PvP combat, but all Augmentation Evoker damaging abilities increased by 23% in PvP combat to cancel this damage reduction out.
- 2. Living Flame damage in PvP combat is increased by 10%.
- 3. Trembling Earth (Fissure Tier 4 Set) duration increased to 30 second duration in PvP combat (Up from 20 seconds).
Change 1 – Ebon Might currently is a 33% personal damage increase in PvP (Normally a 23% in PvE). It doesn’t feel great with the amount of CC in PvP, that our rotation has such a large disparity of personal damage from Ebon Might in PvP. This change would buff our floor damage (When we are at our worst) but would not at all increase burst damage.
Change 2 – Living Flame is just our main filler to get essence burst procs while Ebon Might is not active. Increasing our floor damage, but not our burst damage directly I believe is the healthiest approach to help Augmentation who’s already underperforming offensively, without creating toxic strong burst windows.
Change 3 – This change is very very important being that we are carrying this underperforming Season 3 Tier Set into Season 4. Currently the duration of the fissures is way too short in PvP. In this state of the game, there is far too much CC so the stacks can easily drop off. I find myself having to prioritize refreshing Prescience (in a very prescience heavy rotation already) to not lose my fissures that I spent 2-3 globals stacking.
Other suggestions if needed to help underperformance
- New PvP Talent: Bolstering Scales – Your blistering scales ability can now deal damage to ranged and magical attackers.
- Ebon Might Primary stat value given to allies is increased to 8% in PvP, up from 6.5%.
- Upheaval damage increased by 5%.
To stay in line with Devastation and Preservations Values (Both specs are performing better, no reason to exclude Augmentation from this any longer) - Inherent Resistance reduces magical damage taken by 3% / 6% up from 2% / 4%
- Attuned to the Dream increases healing done and received by 3% / 6% up from 2% / 4%
