Patch is coming out 9/5. Season end has not been announced yet. Patches and seasons don’t always coincide with each other, and they always give a pretty significant warning before the season ends.

race to world first is 2 weeks and involves most devs being hands-on
patch release → mythic opening is at least 1 week
so releasing at any point in october outside of MAYBE the first week (just 4 weeks after 10.1.7???) would result in race to world first / mythic prog overlapping with blizzcon which defo just wont happen

yeah the week after blizzcon just makes the issue of RWF overlapping with thanksgiving the same issue
they had a big issue with this happening around christmas time a couple tiers ago and iirc said they wouldn’t do it again
