Season 3 has the worst loot system ever placed in the game!

The worst system ever. Your idea was to lower the amount of drops and lower the overall rolls of higher pop servers? rediculous way of losing customers real fast. I do not plan on paying for another sub till you return personal loot and better offer things to those who do content each week. Blizz thinks not posting more content and just trying to force people to play for longer is gonna be okay. guess someone lost a job somewhere.

what does server pop have to do with loot drops now? Did I miss something?

Server population has nothing to do with the loot system. That being said, I think they should go back to personal loot as if felt good to have a piece of loot. I cleared the new raid on normal and the only piece of gear I got was a not so great trinket because I was the only one that rolled on it. Meanwhile, some people get good RNG and can receive 2 pieces of gear from the same boss.

that’s not good! do you have a source for either of those claims?

Personal loot essentially worked the same way, you would roll in the background on the items and either get them or not. Now you can like you said have a chance at getting multiple pieces. It’s week one. Maybe next week you get 2-3 pieces it will be okay in the end. I think being able to see the drops and loot is especially beneficial for guild groups, and even though my group half pugs I think other groups should continue to have the option if in a guild to have the current loot system or even better and have master loot.

Personal loot didn’t feel great either when you went multiple weeks in a row with no rewards. Honestly the system is basically the same as it was, now you just get to see what you didn’t win which I think causes people to feel worse than they should. But really, its kind of working the same.

I think they should go back to personal loot at least in LFR if only because I’ve only been back for one single raid cycle and I’ve already lost multiple upgrades to people that had better items equipped. People just roll need on everything they’re allowed to. It’s ridiculous.

True. The current system greatly encourages looting cliques, which are groups of friends who form “pug” raids and then roll need on everything for each other.

A few players can log on their mains, and then roll a bunch of gear for their friends’ alts. And then, the they would do the same raid fresh with their alts, and their friends on the mains would roll a bunch of stuff and give it to the alts.

It’s so hostile and discourages people from raiding.

It’s quite simple. Content you queue for should use personal loot. For everything else, group loot. They royally screwed that up way back in 7.3.5 by forcing personal loot onto everything, and then had to add a bandaid (legacy loot mode) to fix it when it was so easy to just… do it right the first time.

Loot is such a weird thing to fret over. 100% of all content you do either awards new loot, or mats to make current loot more powerful, and most content can be comfortably timed with ilvls well below the ilvl loot it drops.

We’ve got like 5 months left, you’ll all be bored from nothing left to do before we get there.

This game really lost something valuable when it stopped being the case that few players would have an epic item in every slot, much less BiS.

Personal loot was nice

I think one reason people feel this way is because most people want the same trinkets now  so it feels really bad

The green “Heroic” (now “Mythic”) tag replaced the prestige of having purple gear like 15 years ago…

Which was negated by transmog. It was great when you could look at a player’s gear and spec and immediately know if they were good or not.

Gearing is still pretty fast. If you have Myth pieces you’re basically maxed out 489 by next week.

And this is before 10.2.5 came out. This is faster gearing than last season.

It’s slower on wyrm crests by about 1.5 weeks and it’s hard to judge in terms of aspects because we had no use for them until 10.2.5 besides making crafted items every 2 weeks. If last season had launched with the myth track it would have been significantly faster.
