Season 3 Class Set Bonuses are based on the chosen Hero Talent rather than the Class Spec?

Oh WOW Blizzard… you’ve done it again!

So I just stumbled across this gem on Wowhead: Tier Set Overview – Manaforge Omega and I have one question:

WHAAT???
You mean to tell me… instead of letting me farm a normal class set (you know, like we’ve done for years), swap talents, and just play th…e game — now I need specific gear tied to specific Hero Talents?

Amazing. Truly groundbreaking. I always dreamed of farming five different belts and necks just so I can maybe try out a new build without nerfing myself into oblivion.

I was under the silly impression we were moving away from systems that make the game feel like a second job. Silly me. Clearly, what players want is more layers of unnecessary grind, more inventory clutter, and more reasons to dread switching specs.

Don’t worry though — I’m sure this will really enhance the experience… for nobody.

Seriously, was there a meeting where someone said, “Hey, you know what would be fun? Making Hero Talents dependent on different item sets!” and everyone just nodded?

Am I the only one baffled by this design? There are so many ways to make gameplay more flexible and fun. Instead, we’re doubling down on the gear treadmill.

Well played, Blizzard.
10/10. Would farm six different sets again. Can’t wait.

Most gamers are casual, find a spec and build they like, and stick to one. Not their problem that you are an indecisive completionist.

I dont think you understand what you are complaining about

Yes but this affect all players , i consider my self a casual players too but still want to try and have options instead of being punished because i want to explore

You know the bonus changes when you swap hero talents right?

You only need 1 set as always

Neither do I. :dracthyr_lulmao:

Specialized bonuses are a win rather than forcing a square peg into a round hole.

I’m immensely pleased with hero class specific bonuses.

This is on par with complaining that set bonuses change based on spec rather than just having a singular set bonus for the entire class.

You are not casual if that is how you view gear.

I am a casual. I will not even farm the gear, or worry about the stats. I will get to an LFR acceptable level and hold there. My highest character is 618 atm and barely touched anything in Season 2. I am an extreme casual, but there are plenty of folks out here who just gear for heroics and LFR so we can do other things, not just min max for M+ and determine which of 5 sets works best.

I’m confused what the complaint is here. Tier set bonuses have morphed to suit your current spec for a while now. What’s all that different about them not only morphing based on spec, but also which hero talent is selected?

Op is right in that 11.2 tier set bonuses aim at your HERO SPEC talents over your SPEC.

So the bonus is aimed at sunfury mages (arcane and fire) over just fire mage

What OP doesnt understand is you dont have to collect multiple sets per hero spec. The set changes based on your spec and hero spec.

so there will no longer be the same situation it was in shadow lands for “relics power” we don’t need different type of gear for different hero specs ?

It will just switch set stats when you switch hero talents ? without another farming rounds?

Nope, you get one tier set and if you play lets say oracle holy priest and switch to voidweaver shadowpriest the bonus will change to your current spec and hero spec

ok , got it now , i assumed will be the same situation as other times when they push us to farm specific items for specific hero talent sets … not automatically switching

Shadowlands systems were pretty restrictive they wont make the same mistake again. I actually like hero spec sets as it enhances youe version of ret oe shadowpriest rather than just base shadowpriest. Although it is a little more to read whenever you swap specs

Thank you for translating. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

I have no idea how someone reads “Tier set bonuses based on hero talents” and immediately makes the leap to “We will need to farm multiple tier sets now” because that’s just insane.

Gaslighting themselves into being angry.

Maybe they had azerite armor PTSD.

They just overlooked that set bonuses change depending on your spec (or talent choice, in this case). We all have brain farts every now and then!

Yup. Only need one tier set, bonuses based on specific hero talkents is a pure upgrade, allowing things like scalecommander and flameshaper having totally different bonuses vs one benefiting from the tier more than the other.

OP is crying about the 9 LFRs he runs a week on his 9 alts he calls mains.
