we lose ancestral guidance wich is fine i dont mind
but losing prim wave will just make the gap between farseer and totemic even bigger, farseer had the 30 sec cd on ns that fit with prim wave.
Now the replacement for prim wave is basicly a 40% nerfed prim wave. shaman already lack of cd to top the team and we are losing our only instant big heal (im saying instant even tho there is some set up)
yeah i get it now every healing wave will heal other target affected by riptide for 25% of the amout + ancestor ( on testing ancestor heal for 40k) its not enough it’s not even close to the old prim wave simply because I don’t see a world where i can spam healing wave.
“Why are shuffle queues taking so long?” Also wasn’t Cata and MoP well over a decade old. Hey man, you guys were good once 14 years ago, sit down…
Honestly, a buff to Earthen Totem visuals would be a direct buff to healing output. If it weren’t for my weakaura, I wouldn’t even know if I was in or out of it on certain maps. Like, it should have spirit link levels of visual identification. Give me a bright turd ring.
It’s a dead class don’t bother. Ever since they decided to make shamans more about being tanky and less healy, they’ve been a mess.
Legion with the earth shield blanket damage reduction, which turned into one of the most hated things. Or calming waves which is just perma aura mastery.
Blizz in all their genius think if a healing totem heals for more than 0.05% of someones life pool its OP. So, now they must rely on janky unfun damage mitigation cooldowns like earthen wall totem and hard casting 24/7 just to live. They’ll never be good. Just delete your sham on the character select screen.
Oh I’m sorry. I was just using that dumbass logic that everyone in this community does to justify unwarranted nerfs like with pally next season is seeing basically a deletion of their spec “you guys were good for a season so that means it’s best if you guys are the worst next season” makes sense
??? Pally has more rep than every other healer put together. I know rep isn’t everything and I actually feel that healer balance is really close, but it’s pretty telling that hpal can use some adjustments.
What??? Shaman has been the healer for at least a patch basically every season.
It was the only healer bfa s1/2 (and still strong in 3) and arguably one of the best healers all slands in 2s and 3s. Also the best healer in df s2 pre-aug and s3 during the dh/destro terror arc.
Its biggest weakness atm is its mana and weak major CDs. The mana thing I get because, prior to tww, shaman would just have 2-3 mana bars for every other class without drinking, which feels very silly.
Their cds are super weak, though, which I’d personally like to see a buff to.
This is a problem in pvp AND pve. Essentially, if you want to heal multiple targets, you chain heal, and you surge single targets for triage because SO many of the talents effect just surge or chain heal. Healing wave is more mana efficient as a HPM heal I guess, but it’s less HPS, slower, and clunky to cast in any environment involving movement.
Shaman changes look more like pvp nerfs than buffs, especially vs classes that stomp totems like ele or boomy.
They should have gutted lightsmith and called it a day. The herald build is far more enjoyable and balanced imo for the little bit I played hpal. Don’t see a reason to hurt both but idk
Seems like they are trying to simplify healers and are pulling cds from a few. I’m sure your healing totems/riptides will be compensated for the loss?
sadly it wont. it is just not enough. main problem with rsham is not passive healing. its instant burst healing we basicly have none now that they got rid of prim wave.
I feel this season is the worst rshaman has been since I have been playing the spec (somewhere around BFA). Borderline unplayable for me (yes i understand its subjective but it try felt that bad). I am probably missing something but for me its the first season i had to skip playing rshaman entirely, as much as i tried it felt extremely weak vs disc, hpal or prevoker. Even on fights i felt i was the better healer.
really? it was completely awful in s1 and for s2 it seemed significantly worse than druid and priest
skipped s3/s4 so idk about then
agreed
i only started playing sham in sl, so cant speak for bfa, but shaman mana was maybe 20-30% better than healers that arent druid in df
yes, shaman had better mana than most healers (except priest depending on comp), but this is somewhat necessary as shaman is the worst healer in the game at getting successful drinks
drinking is a moot point in the current meta, but assuming that drinks are a thing, then i think its fine for shaman to have some amount of better mana than other healers, maybe 10-15%
as it stands shaman currently ooms the fastest in pve too so hopefully it gets reworked… eventually
Sham was basically the only healer all of BFA until S4. Couldn’t die (had an azerite trait called pack spirit that made them unkillable), and also had unlimited mana.
Slands S1 hpal was the best for the first 2/3rds, but then hpal got nerfed and sham was the best. No one really played it, because 75% of the ladder sat, but it was nuts.
Was also excellent s2/s3 and competed with rdruid. Def harder to play, but arguably better.
S4 was all hpriest, though.
Ya, shaman still has excellent utility and okay throughput, but mediocre CDs and no mana atm. I think it needs the mana nerfs partially reverted 100%.
