What are you guys using for Brann’s spec in season 2 for delves? I used healer in season 1, but tended to stick to “easier” delves so that I could get through faster and never got passed tier 8 as a soloer. I’m wondering if healer is/was the best choice, since I might try to push higher tiers this season.
I’d like to hear some experienced delver’s thoughts on this too. I tried Tank Brann, but it was basically pointless on a Mage with no way to heal him. I don’t know. I expected him to survive a bit better I guess lol.
So, my choices are between DPS Brann (the one I usually do) and healer Brann. But I haven’t come to a solid conclusion on it yet.
At TWW launch I used DPS, but then as I got to higher tiers, I switched to healer since I was struggling some to stay alive and it seemed to be better. I never tried tank. I also never tried DPS again post 600 ilvl, so I’m unsure if it’s any better than the healer as the “best” spec to use.
For the most part:
DPS use Healer Brann.
Tanks use DPS Brann.
Healers use Tank Brann.
There may be some deviation here and there but this is the general trend.
I tried Tank Brann and it works ok even without heal. In the end I’m sticking with Healer Brann.
Mage has such a good kit for mitigating damage and getting hit that a tank really isn’t needed and feels clunky and slow.
I’ll stick with Healer Brann
It sounds like it wasn’t a poor choice so I’ll continue with the healer spec this season and see how it goes.
I’ve been using tank Brann and it works fairly well up through tier 11’s. I’m usually able to finish pulls off before he gets knocked out. The only issue I have run into so far is having to get creative on some of the last bosses in 11’s, using most of my defensives between him getting knocked out and reviving.
Yeah, I couldnt keep tank brann alive at all - in fact, he was dead more often than not. I went back to Healer Brann…
I did some healer-Brann delves yesterday after mostly being a DPS-Brann delver in season 1. Not sure if they buffed healer Brann (I took a massive WoW break), but healer Brann feels incredibly good to me now.
How do you spec your healer and dps brann?
If you have a healer brann don’t you just end up dying a lot, since you have all the aggro?
You have all the aggro with both the healer and the DPS version of Brann, most of the time anyway. Tank Brann is a new addition to this patch, so we never had him in season 1 anyway, though like I said above, it’s basically too annoying to use him as a Mage since we can’t keep him healed. No, you don’t really end up dying a lot. Unless you’re pulling 3 packs at a time or playing delves way higher than your gear level, you’ll be fine. I’m not sure what classes you play, but on Mage you just slow and CC the mobs while pretty much kiting them the whole time. Rarely do I actually get hit unless they cast a spell/ranged attack or they’re a boss mob that you can’t slow.
You also don’t really “spec” Brann other than changing his role at a respawn/repair point in the delve. Just click the icon and pick his role.
What Curios do you guys use on your Healing bran?
Does it change for tank spec?
Healer Brann 100%. It’s not really sustainable to have him as DPS for any decently long encounter since unavoidable damage can whittle you away, even if you’re on point with all other gameplay.
Tank Brann (as others said) also doesn’t work well since he gets wrecked and that’s going to be even worse now that they nerfed his tanking sustain.
As for curios, I usually go with Mechasaur for combat and Bioprinter for utility.
I feel like the combat one that gives him bonus HP, damage and healing is way underrated. The little robot that spawns and stuns him when it reaches him often doesn’t even spawn until packs are nearly dead anyway.
Edit: nevermind, they’re nerfing that curio into the ground.
I’m currently using Mechasaur for Combat and Pacifist for Utility (although, I will admit - I dont particularly care for pacifist - it does really good damage, but i find it very annoying to control. I plan to play around with other options this week and see if anything feels better)
The mech often procs at bad times, often toward the end of pulls, and often just messed me up. I like the bio printer one that spawns minions copies of enemies.
That one is next on my list… i tried the magnet this morning for one, wasnt horrible, wasnt great either. I’ll try the bio printer next (i think i had tried that one 1st thing this past week since it was the 1st curio i got, but i never saw it proc a copy at all)
