Scrying Goggles, No Drop During Entire Raid

Hello, I just did a full clear of MC with my guild using FFA loot on trash, and ML on bosses, I tagged every mob, and as this is season of discovery, I cannot be loot locked like in retail.

I was the only one on the quest.

Can someone explain why not a single Scying Goggles dropped?? I’m not out of chances and have been told that they will not help as I was either not active during the fight by being too far away, or loot lock, which again, isnt a thing in SoD.

This just isn’t fair…

RNG is always fair

should have just trash farmed

Give me proof of other raids going completing it without and maybe, but it seems everyone else is getting theirs.

I was in a raid a few days ago and there was a guy looking for goggles, and he said they never dropped for him.

RNG. The first MC I did it didn’t drop at all. The second MC went in with the intention of trash farming but we got lucky and it dropped after only clearing like 20% of the trash. Went to finish MC and no second drop for our last SL. Next MC went to grind it out and received a pair in the first 5 kills. Its RNG it just do be like that at times.

It’s pure rng! That must suck doing that full grind just to get hard stuck on the last part and not get the battle tank :sob: Next season at least you will know to do trash farms and not risk it all in one run…all that planning and you didn’t think of that ? Thankfully its only a seasonal server and lucky for you they added other scarab mounts that drop for free in AQ! You will get a bug mount in the end! Hope you have a great day Dubnoxious :people_hugging:

Provided it has ‘bad luck protection’.

Because the real way to view RNG is each chance has that %chance to drop it. If it’s a 1% chance, you could literally kill 100 mobs and still not get it. Because each of those 100 kills had a 99% chance NOT to drop it.

…there’s a person (won’t name drop; if you know you know) on the Tweeters that has/had been farming for the Headless Horseman mount for like the last 5 years and, as of last I heard, still hasn’t gotten it; farming everyday of the event for the last 5 years.

no, its fair even without “bad luck protection” you arent entitle to something random just because you put time in. each “kill” is an independent event not connected to the others. by adding bad luck protection in you are influencing the event from the outside making it by definition not fair. it would be a positive outcome by the player perspective but not a fair one as it was influenced.

We had a guy in our guild trash farm for 8 hours to get his. Risking your last lockout and hoping goggles dropped was a poor choice.

RNG isn’t RNG, though.

We learned that like the first day of game design.

Ran 2x MC where 2 different people never saw their goggles.

RNGgods.

You definitely should’ve read into it before doing a full clear…some people have gone 8+ trash run clears and haven’t seen a single goggle. Its a pretty low drop rate. Some get lucky but others will take several hours of farming to get.

The word “fair” means different things to different people, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean “I am guaranteed to get what I want if I try long enough.”

Personally, I define it to mean “everyone has an equal opportunity”.

yes, technically its pseudo random

but in terms of the discussion its only being influenced by the internal calculation loop that the player has no way of knowing if it favors drop vs no drop. and given the large variation in number range and event time constraints it’s about as close to fair as you are going to get in algorithmic computation.

it sucks, tried helping someone last night and the goggles didn’t drop

Why on Earth would you clear the raid for an RNG item?

You shot yourself in the foot. Scarab Lords need to be better prepared.

If you guys didn’t do research for Scarab Lord before hand you were not going to get it to begin with.

We got 3 normally doing MC’s, but our last one required about 4 hours of trash farming the last lock out after not getting it the previous lock out.

It’s a random drop chance, no guarantees. Pretty much every scarab lord guide says to just trash farm without killing bosses until the goggles drop. I mean doing the run normally would have been fine if you didn’t leave it till the very last opportunity.
