Is there any way in game to edit this?

I know the script commands for disabling/enabling but what about a filter to determine what shows up and maybe some font and size options. We had many addons that enabled players this freedom before and it would be very nice if we coud regain some of that funtionality in game.

The AdvancedInterfaceOptions addon is the easiest way to configure it.

Right now at least that addon isn’t working when you disable combat text its turning back on when you log out like the games setting does…

Try enabling the Enforce Settings on Startup option.
