I guess cause I’ve used MSBT for longer than I can remember (I’ve been playing since December of 2004 and I don’t remember when MSBT first released, but I’ve used it ever since), but same as my experience on Beta…
There is absolutely nothing in current state that is making me want to play and I think part of it is the fact I don’t have my numbers! I didn’t realize how much pleasure I got from seeing large crits and as they grew with my power level, etc. And now?
Now I push buttons…. (fewer buttons, at that) and eventually the thing I am pushing buttons at falls over (or I do, but usually its them)… and that’s it?
It’s… boring. The simplification has just made it… boring. I can’t even look at details/inherent meter to see how big of a hit my ability did…
This is so demoralizing. Please, for the love of god, give us scrolling combat text similar to MSBT or let us use MSBT again!
And, yes, to those who want to point out that I can turn on combat numbers… the inherent UI is such a giant CF that its just random numbers popping off over mobs heads in a chaotic way that is near undecipherable.

I read to slow for that.
I use text to voice. really tricky to balance that in with all the game sound, plus music on both i tunes and that other popular music app. (one in each ear)
Oh, wow. I didn’t even know text to voice was a thing! That’s pretty nifty!
I love MSBT because it would group numbers together and display a visual icon next to the number for the spell it was associated with. Plus it would POP on crits, which made it easy to see when a spell did a huge crit which I loved.

I also really hope MSBT will come back in some way, shape, or form. It and z-perl are the only real UI addons I use and I miss them both dearly already.
Yeah MSBT should just be how the scrolling combat text should be by default. You know, telling me actually what ability is doing what, color coding it based on damage type with the icons of said abilities beside it so I can tell immediately what’s going on.

I used SCT and SCT Damage for years, then when those broke in DF, I switched to MSBT. Blizzard’s floating combat text is pathetic, with the biggest issue being positioning. I always had my damage taken floating downward on the left and damage done floating upward on the right - so they don’t block the view of whatever I’m fighting - plus important notifications (low health, enter and exit combat, etc.) popping up in lower center.
Native combat text just floats in the middle around the mob, where it’s mostly unreadable, plus you have no idea which ability did what. Same for heals, popping up in a “fountain” pattern around me where I can’t really tell what’s happening.
Right now I’m still setting up talent trees for all my alts but I have no desire to actually play, this is a major game feature that’s a showstopper for me.
