Scripts and automation

What defines something that can classes as automating interactions?

Everyone uses scripts/macros for ease of use.
But when is it to much?

ive seen mages auto inivting anyone who says “org,uc” etc.
Or even clicking on their portrait and get you a auto invite.

Whats the line between a macro and automating interaction?

Last I remember the line is one function per button press, so if you have a macro that performs 3 functions, one on each button press that is okay. But if you create a automated routine that performs more than one function (note that communication and /pet attacks are not considered a function since you can create a macro that launches a pet attack as well as cast a hunter debuff at the same time with one button press) such as casting 3 spells with one button press including pausing for the 1 second global timer is considered a no-no.

You can create a macro in-game that can trigger multiple abilities on click by using the macro command to click certain hotbar slots and then place macros in those slots. You can chain it together to do some pretty wild stuff all without using a third party script or any scripting at all really.

I used to be pretty good at macros, not great, but good. I’ve forgotten a ton though and it can be hard to find the information online for some of the more weird stuff.

/cast hunters mark rank 1
/pet attack

The things I do since TBC thatvwould have made Vanilla smoother :grinning:
