Screw Spectrum!

Screw Spectrum! I am constantly disconnecting. Nothing quite like getting kicked because you disconnect three times during a boss fight, only to log back in to disconnect again.

Writing this, I just disconnected three times in a row and we haven’t even cleared trash yet! And of course, I was kicked.

Oh, and dungeons can be just as bad at times. It is terrible.

I understand being kicked. People who constantly D/C are dead weight, and should be kicked. I just wish I didn’t HAVE to be kicked. I wish Spectrum was an actually good internet provider.

I wish I could blame the bad internet on the snowstorms, but this has been happening since summer!

Screw you, Spectrum!

How are ISPs just universally the most garbage companies in existence.

If I could burn down Suddenlink’s offices (when they’re empty of people) and get away with it I would.

Oh sorry, I meant Optimum. Because changing your name to try and run away from your terrible reputation is a reasonable thing to do.

Optimum is like that, me my neighbors, even my work, the internet will cut out and you can’t use your browser but if you have any apps open like WoW or Discord you stay connected unless you exit the app.

There was an entire patch in MoP where Comcast would run reboots of their cable and internet at peak hours. It was like clockwork where I could set a timer for when I was going to be kicked from raid.

bro when i lived up north optimum was such a scam

it was the only thing offered and it was like 120 down for more than i’m paying for spectrum here (which has better internet in general than optimum)

optimum was more expensive for literally half of the speed i get here with spectrum

We called them SuddenSuck around here, among other things. I’ve never been so happy to be away from that absolute garbage of an ISP. It fascinated me how my service actually got worse just because they changed their name. I was honestly surprised that when I called to disconnect that I didn’t get hung up on endlessly, instead she kept trying to insist I could take them with me when I moved. “No ma’am, thank you, I have Google Fiber where I’m going. I’ll be fine.” “…oh.” Yeah oh. Words cannot express.

One time a light breeze came through and disconnected the entire streets internet. I could literally look out my window and see the box unplugged hanging there. Everyone called them to come fix it. Six weeks later the old man of the neighborhood had enough, grabbed his ladder and fixed it.

I was stuck with AT&T paying $60 a month for 10mb/s download speed. The only alternative was Sudden Link… at least AT&T stayed connected 99.9% of the time.

(Yes, I still have FB, shame on me) - I’m part of one of those neighborhood groups, and they complain about Sudden Link every single day.

Oooh. Optimum is Suddenlink?
I get Optimum mail every other day. I just thought it was some intrusive new-player. They’re very aggressive and annoying with their adverts.

Today I have Santa Rosa. I don’t even think they have coverage in much of USA. But if you get the chance, I’d recommend them so far. :man_shrugging:

i had that issue big time was very annoying until i moved my modem/router and got a new cable plug going to modem to the wall and i been fine sense. give that a try

See if you local power company has internet. Most power companies got a grant to run internet lines now.

I had something like 200-300 down for $150/month with SuddenLink/Optimum and I was lucky to get half that speed on a good day. Meanwhile I’m paying $70/month now for 1gb fiber and could easily up that to 2gb for $100/month instead.

Fortunately, where I used to live has started petitioning other companies to come in so they can get real service. I hope they run that crapshow ISP out of town.

during covid optimum was having some serious issues where i was.

i couldn’t do anything from 6pm-1am

Shiz I wouldn’t trust our power company with that.

I have many problems with Spectrum just losing connection and I have to reset it. Garbo service.

Comcast has Star Wars jawas for techs and staff, midday restarts, restarts all the sudden and god help if a butterfly burps by the pole servers.

There’s a reason why Suddenlink and Optimum are being targeted for multiple lawsuits across the US.

I am not surprised in the least.

Whenever you feel bad about your internet providers

Look at Canada and see how expensive everything is and how bad it is
