Screen flashing red for no reason

Lately a character just flying from one area to another gets the red flashing that usually means you’re under attack or your health dropped too low. This when you’re totally not in combat and at 100% health. Not a gamekiller but annoying as hell. Checked all the game settings and only thing close was a box to check to turn off warning that health was too low. Which I checked and made no difference.

This one just started last week, on one of my PCs. To make it more mysterious, happens to any of my alts on that PC. On other one same toons can fly over same areas without the annoying red flash. Hoping someone can offer a fix.

Some addons like NPCScan do the same flash when they detect an eligible rarespawn someplace within line of sight. Are you running such addons?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The mysterious flash was driving me nuts.

Don’t know how or why but my disabled add-ons had all gotten turned back on and NPCScan was one of them. And since I had sound turned off, didn’t hear its distinctive screech.
