Scrath that, BETA is NOT working

Beta is not functional in the slightest. I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to go and hoax all of us, but it wasn’t nice! I tried about times to get in to no avail. It is not working.

You new here? lol This is absolutely par for the course with beta launches. Long queues, constant D/Cs, FINALLY getting in only to D/C when you move 5 feet. After a few hours, when people get sick of trying and stop logging in, it smooths out. A day or so later and it’s basically stable. Welcome to beta! You are here to test and give feedback, not to get early access to a finished product.

It’s a beta, not a hoax. More players than usual are trying to access the same 3 servers that have been hosting a small minority since alpha opened, not to mention its a brand new build so bound to have problems.
It’s been “up” for what? half an hour or so – lower your expectations. :upside_down_face:

It does kind of shock me how many people expected this to be a polished, smooth experience. Every beta has been rocky because it’s for testing and reporting bugs not for playing the expansion early.
Add preorder bundle onto that for even more than normal people flooding the servers and we’re here.

Who is getting in? I can’t copy a character or create one. Just keeps telling me character creation failed.

Doesn’t shock me in the slightest. Still bugs me tho at the blatant entitlement. When i saw they were basically selling beta keys i knew this would not only compound the issues at launch but felt i would see alot of these crybaby posts.

I created one. That’s about it so far though.

Don’t feel bad, one of my guildies got in, moved for like 5s and got DC’d.

I mean… We’re not testing the expansion. We’re testing Blizz’s inability to launch a server. I didn’t need a beta to test this.

I fully expect the game to be broken… Not expecting their servers to be.

I got in, moved 5 feet and got disconnected again lol. THIS IS BETA. If you don’t like it, go play any other number of versions for a few days until things calm down. Nothing is broken, no one got hoaxed, everything is going exactly the way it always has.

Reposting this…

"Every beta there are a set of people don’t understand what happens. Most of you will so this post is not for you - just let your eyes glaze over and move on. For new beta testers however…

i) Blizzard do not regularly communicate about server access and availability. This is not a live server where you have paid for a game. There is not a communication team for test realms. Once the beta forum is up there will be a blue post every week about updates and what’s changed - and an occasional post from a blue saying when servers are going down for a long time.

ii) (This happens every beta where a few people have a hissy fit). Everything you do on beta will be deleted. Your progress does not go to the live servers. This is not early access - this is beta testing.

iii) There will be bugs and frustrations. The next few days will demonstrate that. Beta testing is not like playing retail… it will be up and down. Do not expect communication about what’s happening or when things will be fixed.

iv) Your purpose is to play and test things. There will be a bug reporter that you can click on to report bugs. Use it - and try to be clear in your communications. Leave your emotions out of it.

v) There will be a beta forum. Don’t clog it with trivial stuff. If you want the forums to be occasianally read by Blizzard, then they won’t be read if they have to wade through dozens of pages on irrelevant stuff.

vi) After a while you’ll have done everything you want to do on Beta. Keep an eye on the forums for special testing - like a launch day test or raid testing - and come back and participate on those.

vii) Most Blizzard will say they just want you to play the game. It isn’t an interactive process. They get most of their information from people just playing."

Agreed, moreso because I can already hear people complaining that they expected the finished product of the expansion. The forums are going to be a hayday for the next few months. I genuinely hope that I provide significant feedback to make up for one person’s lack of it.

You thought this wasn’t a small indie dev, but it is.

100%.

See, all these people who have never gotten beta invites before who now have one because they paid for it are an entirely different breed of wow player. But it’s sure fun to watch

It is absolutely par for the course. Blizz charges a ton of money, promises things, doesnt deliver, then gets hit with a ton of refunds because for some reason over the last almost twenty years, they still havent figured out how to have a relatively smooth launch, or, to deliver what they say they will, when they say they will. This, is exactly why I didnt make the $90 purchase. I knew it’d be hot trash trying to get into the “early access beta”. Whats realistically gonna happen, is theyll take 2 days fixing it, on the third day, some will get in, and when asked about reimbursing the time lost for something people paid for, theyll shrug and say “Sorry about your luck” while they shove a big wad of money into their sweaty, cheeto stained pockets.

I’m trying to just change servers from ‘These Go To Eleven’ because that’s not my vibe, and when I try to get on either Alleria or Khadgar, I get an error that says, ‘Access to this realm requires an account with a valid access license.’

Uh… I have beta. Thanks.

It’s fine, they will eventually cry themselves to sleep and ease the load of the servers and then we can get to work lol

Yeah having the same issue with needing a valid game license.

Not too worried about, sure it will be fixed sometime tomorrow.

And that forum is up btw
