Scrapping Armor For Titan Residuum

I recently tried scrapping ilvl 430 cloth helm (i’m plate char), for titan residuum. Didn’t give me any… Am i missing something here? Does the armor literally have to be my class type?

Someone else told me only 445 ilvl works for scrapping?
I’m scrapping on Boralus, next to the goblin guy that makes you do the tater cloak quest.

  1. Was it a “create an item” helm or a real helm?
  2. Why does a plate class have their hands on a cloth helm?
  3. Why should scrapping a piece of armor that you shouldn’t have give you rewards?

To get titan residuum you need:
445 or higher ilevel azerite
The azerite must have dropped this tier (445 from last tier won’t work).

You can get residuum from scrapping or DE’ing the above.

Something doesn’t add up. You can only get an azerite piece for your armor type, how did a warrior (plate) get a cloth azerite piece?

The higher the iLvl the better the reward up to 1k for 480 azerite. ( that cost 4750 from the vendor )

I know this because I’ve gotten three 480 chests in row that sim worse than my 450 chest on my rogue. By thousands of DPS.
