That explains the back to back summons that is going on right now.

Rumor has it that the garbage rare no longer has a loot lockout (for the mount, not for gear drops).
Devs fear it’s gonna be a ghost town once S2 launches.
Gotta get players farming it all night.
More likely they didn’t want the terrible original design to make collectors rethink their commitment to the game.
Either way this is a good change.
These community events are always terribly designed in their original format, so the devs must not be learning as time goes on.

I wouldn’t say that - the launch events in TWW have been a hell of a lot better than in early DF. STL could have a better reward design, but at least it’ll be easier to solo as time goes on. This event was really the first major pain point in a community event this expansion
What I don’t understand is that on the PTR it was fine and when it went live it was substantially worse.

I can confirm this. I killed this particular rare (9) times tonight on a single character and successfully looted the mount! Didn’t swap any characters or anything.
Oh is this why people are forming raids for it. lol

I assume like most rares the rare drop is once per reset?
Edit: never mind I just saw the person above me saying they got it after 20 attempts in a day!
I have to admit, I didn’t even know about the rare until it spawned while getting cans on my alt. I couldn’t seem to find a way to tell where the next pile was, though, until someone had started it, so I couldn’t help others get the mount as easily as I’d have liked to.
