Remove this stupid starting area. No one wants to start on a boat. we want to start at our “Home” zone, not to mention the amount of people that get stuck having to create a new character several times before they get to play surely makes new players want to continue to play. Have you ever heard the term “Don’t Fix Something If It’s Not Broken”
Exiles reach is fine.
So choose your home zone.
Just think of the children!
Exile’s Reach is completely optional.
Well congrats, because once you’ve levelled a single character to 50, you too can pick your starting zone as the place you want to start in when you create a new character.
You’re only forced to play through Exile’s Reach if you’re a new player or you haven’t reached level 50 on a single character yet.
Although as most of those zones are boring and the loot from them is trash, it’s honestly not worth it to do those zones. Far better to do Exile’s Reach, even if you don’t get boots…
Just let people start anywhere, even on a new character.
Exile’s Reach takes like 40 minutes to do. But it’s a tutorial for new players to help teach them the basics. Which is nicer than dropping them into the massive rest of the world with no explanation of how to do anything.
It’s a quick experience to get them on their feet. Not a big deal!
You don’t need to start on Exile’s reach if you aren’t a new account (and a new account only needs to do it once), it’s an option.
(one who i think is much better than the regular starting zones).
What did we learn today?
All the kids in class say:
“The horde leaves no one behind”
If you’re new to the game, Exile’s Reach includes a very helpful tutorial, teaching you the basics of what you need to know to play the game, introducing you to class specific mechanics, and even how the dungeon finder works.
It’s absolutely vital for new players.
Once you’ve gotten a character to 50, then it’s 100% optional, and that’s fine.
Its faster to 10 then normal start.
Which at creation is an option. So if wanting the old way…have at it.
Now it be nice if it had mailbox to send enchanted looms. Just to get it over with. but waiting 10 levels is not deal breaking imo. There are worse things.
like OG DK start. Get the mail box early…but you get the interrogation quest. RNG liked me here last run. no BS…the first dude beaten spilled the beans. I almost died of shock. I’ve had another DK I killed many people to get info. And I do mean MANY!
I don’t think a mailbox really helps new players, which is what Exile’s Reach is for.
For us veterans though, who have the looms and such, the best way to get access to enchanted looms on Exile’s Reach is by using the Katy’s Stampwhistle toy. It’s usable at level 1 and serves as a mailbox for 10 minutes.
it’s not optional, literally being forced there when i create a character.
Then you haven’t levelled a character to 50 yet.
Do that, then it becomes optional.
Exile’s Reach is legit one of the best parts of the entire expansion. While there are a few starting experiences I would advise people to play over Exile’s Reach (Goblin and Worgen for certain - those starting experiences are fantastic), Exile’s Reach completely blows all of the Vanilla/BC starting zones out of the water.
it’s not useful at all, it’s annoying and in the way. I want to go where my friends are.
That’s the only option you have.
Do Exile’s Reach (it doesn’t take long), then level a character to 50 in BFA content and once you’ve gotten to 50, then you’ll have unlocked Chromie Time and the ability to pick your racial starting zone as the place you want to start your character rather than Exile’s Reach.
Given how useful the tutorial is for new players, Blizzard isn’t going to stop making it mandatory for them.
You have the solution to your problem now. Stop being lazy and do the work.
Then get a character to 50. If you’re a brand new player, why do you care where you start? Just play the game.
If you’re new and your friends know you’re new… why don’t they just do Exile’s Reach with you? Lol.
