Scorched Feet

So like… it’s unplayable. Done horrific vision runs before and never had it come up. Absolutely intolerable. There’s no way to play around it, no skill check mechanic to cope with it. These visions are already mobility demanding enough through the mini-boss/trash mechanics. Adding a completely random, uncontrollable, unavoidable, fast charge mechanic like this does nothing but add artificial difficulty. Its lazy programming and completely stupid. I’m assuming they added this to try and prolong the time it takes players to max their capes.

You want to increase sub lengths for your players, stop adding garbage like this to the game. I’m a consistent subscriber who actually enjoys the side content. Adding RNG nonsense like this really does come off as obvious bloat to the game, designed to make grinds take unnecessarily longer. There’s enough other stuff for people to do. Just stop.

Don’t move when you see the debuff. Turn in the direction you want to bounce in…then move.

Worth mentioning, I don’t complain about in-game mechanics often, if ever. I’ll play through just about any mechanic they introduce. This is absolutely game-breaking for me.

Scorched feet is great for casters. If mobs get too close take a few steps back and now you just made 10 more ft in between you and the mobs.

I wouldn’t say there’s no way to play around it, as you sort of know when it’s getting ready to happen.

But that doesn’t make it any less annoying. It gets old being tossed off of the bridges in Orgrimmar : /

The debuff being applied to you is on a timer (Similar to quaking), and when, and where you get jumped is entirely under your control

I don’t know. It’s not a difficult mechanic… it’s just ANNOYINGzomgburnitwithfire.

Some of the corruptions/vision mechanics are interesting. This one ain’t.

See that’s the thing. As a melee in the boss fights in this thing, you HAVE to keep moving. There’s puddles, beams that push you across the map, etc. It’s the jump mechanic that completely ruins any mobility. I’ve never had issues finishing the first part of the drag before. I died going in with 70% sanity on inquisitor because of this debuff. STRICTLY because of this debuff. Stun-locked and movement locked into submission.

EDIT: Meant the drag in Org, said trade district in keyboard rage

you have to keep moving. wouldn’t it be nice if there was a thing that helped you move?

also you can stand right on top of the Drag boss (directly on top) and avoid void torrent forever

Or you can use the scorched jump to get behind the stump faster and wait out the cast, if you aren’t comfortable with hit boxes (Which you might not be as a tauren).

Thats nice to know. I normally just AmS it.

It’s annoying, but about 100x more annoying for casters and marksman hunters. You have full control of which direction you bounce, and it “tells” you when it’s going to occur. If you’re getting bounced continuously into stuns, that’s a L2P issue. Especially as a Warrior (charge/heroic leap), you’re playing the class that cares the least about it probably.

You know what rubs me is when the affix trolls you as you attempt to access the teleport totem & knocks you out of the channel. Can we do away with that nonsense please??

Aye, I just cleared 5 mask as melee earlier today!

You can control it when you are familiar with it. You can choose the direction you’ll bounce in when aware that it’ll happen. I understand it’s frustrating, but it can be used to your advantage eventually.

With that that specific fight, I like to circle the boss to keep DPSing as I avoid the torrent. A pain if you bounce away from the boss–you stay in the same line as the void torrent. Though if you can practice bouncing in directions before getting to the boss, you can easily use it for a further boost in the right direction! Or if you just want to play it safe, a bounce behind the stump (as others mentioned).

He was speaking about the first boss of trade, we segued into the drag boss.

How…? The jump only occurs if you move, and if you are casting the totem use then you obviously aren’t moving.

do you even need to move for the first guy in trade?

oh, whoops. lol. thinking orgrimmar since its that week

If you ran straight to him from old town and didn’t stop, you’d have 1 faceless caster, 1 burrower, 1 aoe stun cultist, and 1 aoe damage cultist (And some random townsfolk) beating on you.

I could see needing to run a bit then :stuck_out_tongue:

That was my mistake! Said trade, meant drag lol
