Scorched Feet can bite me

Third time that stupid thing has cost me a vessel. I am seriously about the drop kick my tower if I waste an entire day again. I was wrecking adds, dropped an orb. It JUMPED ME OUT OF THE ORB into a chain pull of adds. If this is going to continue happening I’m going to punch the friggin monitor and never play a vision again. Wasting an entire day getting the crap to buy one of those and having it completely wasted is the stupidest mechanic and whoever thought it was a good idea deserves the most horrible things done to them in the most horrible way possible.
/endrant

**i should clarify it prevented me from getting it dropped, otherwise I would have just run back into it.

Just another mechanic to punish the skitzo melee who insist on ALWAYS MOVING even when movement isn’t required. I approve.

The secret is the game tells you when you’re in a scorched feet area, and it tells you when scorched feet is about to occur. You KNOW it’s about to happen, so… STOP MOVING, and when you have to move, move in a direction that won’t get you killed.

Not a difficult thing to figure out, just stop needlessly mashing your movement keys. Mashing your strafe keys doesn’t help you do more deeps or take less damage. Slow down! Life is to be savored!

Dwarven District… Just pull everything + miniboss and AOE it down.
I’ve seen Warlocks/Rogues do this. I do this as a BDK.
You can use hp pots if you actually take dmg (doubt).
Same with Trade District. This place has 2 minibosses though and they’re slightly harder, so you might wanna 1v1 them.

Still just pull and aoe. I don’t even notice the fire being a nuisance. It helps me get to where I want faster.

Few times that has jumped me into adds. Just got to make sure you know where you are and where you can jump to. Just pull small and back up

Also had a “jump out of orb” today. Even worce it was my 3ed try popping the stupid orb but I got fire under me… then 2 of my team missed it so I had to pop the last orb.We lost with the end boss on around 1% up…

Thanks for the tip! I think my biggest problem was I went into it way too late and wasn’t paying attention as much as I usually do. I’ll definitely be sure to go with those ideas, none of the stuff was denting me so ill do that monster pull approach tomorrow if I get into it again.

I just really hate the spend all day grinding nonsense to buy the thing only for it to be a total wash with nothing to show for it. Really disincentivizes me wanting to put any time towards it. And I will not be going with groups, they have screwed me harder than any stupid mechanic has.

Don’t even worry about it. The cloak maxes at lv 15 and the player base can only go up +1 rank per week to the limit. Last week was 6 max. Now it’s 7 max and then 8 max next week. Some ppl are even saving keys (5 in bags. 25K currency in tab) until they’re more geared.

It uhh… It actually does for Demon Hunters. It’s how we pick up soul fragments, which heal us and give us fury.

It’s a really hard habit to break once you spend any length of time doing it. :relaxed:

Can somebody explain Scorched Feet? I saw that I had the debuff, but I just assumed it was a dot. I didn’t notice any jumping affect or anything.

Um, if you don’t move, you don’t jump. You take damage instead. …and it doesn’t put you into combat or stop you from casting.

Your fault for not taking the time to actually understand how the mechanic works.

If you struggle with this particular zone/mechanic, simply save your vessels for next week and level your cloak up in orgrimmar.

Listen, if i didn’t want to give myself a rsi, I wouldn’t be playing a fury warrior. Telling me not to press buttons is blasphemy. :joy:

Sounds like it did… (just playin)

It’s a frustrating mechanic that adds difficulty to the vision. it annoys me, but on the flip side, “beating it” feels better when I’ve been annoyed and frustrated by soemthing in the past so I’m ok with it.

It is an effect that send you jumping when you move. I used it to get out of crap during fights quite often.

It is not that bad, solo/if you stop and think. But most WoW players seem to be stuck in “gogogo” and “must always be moving” mode. This madness will NAIL YOUR REAR TO THE GROUND if you take that approach (not saying you can’t go fast, but instead of rushing, try doing it like chess and planning 2 moves in advance at all times).

I’ve wanted to do this in trade district, but I was kind of worried about the tentacles that go up and down. Do they consistently follow you? Or do they only stay in their same general initial area? If they follow you, great! I was just worried if they only stay in roughly the same area, keeping you in combat and you’d have to run back to them on foot.

They consistently follow you, but having multiple tentacles on staggered cycles can be a real time sink, one going down just as you kill another etc etc. Turns into a panicked whack a mole.

Ahh I see! So maybe 2 medium sized pulls instead of one massive pull then

Thank you

Impossible. Orbs removes all corruption effects while you’re in it.

Try paying more attention to your feet. Also, know how to pull things back and take advantage of LOS to pull casters back. That way, if you get punted around a couple times, it won’t send you flying into another pack.

I am all about tossing around the tweakers who think strafing adds to their dps. Blame Sodapoppin for convincing the kids that you have to strafe back and forth at least seven times in between every global cooldown.

That said, there are times when you have to move, and it’s annoying to get bounced like a pinball when you’re just trying to get out of the bad stuff.
