Schematic: Biznicks 247x128 Accurascope

Has anyone seen this drop or know anyone that has? I’ve yet to hear of anyone that has seen this drop in Molten Core, and I’ve been asking on various Discords and the r/ClassicWoW subReddit in the past couple days. If it is in fact in the game, the please ignore the rest of the post.

For anyone unaware, the schematic for the 3% hit scope is supposed to drop in Molten Core, and was originally added to the game in patch 1.3 along with other profession recipes such as Formula: Enchant Weapon - Spell Power, and Recipe: Major Rejuvenation Potion - all of which are available in Classic already. What makes this one different, is that its original implementation was overpowered, adding 3% hit to both ranged and melee attacks, and this was removed from drop tables around patch 1.5. Players with the schematic were still able to continue crafting the item after this point, but the schematic could no longer be obtained. Finally, in patch 1.10 the scope got nerfed, applying the hit chance to ranged attacks only, and the schematic was once again added to the loot tables in Molten Core. If the loot tables we currently have in Classic are based on patch 1.9 for phases 1 to 4. Then that means an important piece of Hunter raiding equipment will be missing until Ahn Quiraj opens.

Since all items have 1.12 stats, there should be no reason to gate this item until phase 5, as it would be in its nerfed state already. I hope I’m wrong about the item being unavailable, or that Blizzard reconsider adding it to the current loot tables in Classic.

Going from pre-raid BiS gear to raiding equipment drops causes Hunters to suffer a significant drop in +hit. The scope is meant to counteract that, but as I’ve mentioned, it may not be available. If that’s the case, then Hunters may have to look at alternative raiding drops such as Band of Accuria, and Drake Fang Talisman. Or continue wearing some of their preBiS +hit gear instead of full Tier 1 or Tier 2 sets.

This item was really really rare in vanilla, and it’s possible was removed from the game / added back in at some point. Not sure if 1.12 has it or not.

Edit: if what you said is true… I can assure you AQ 40 does not require it.

By the time AQ opens there’s a bunch of other +hit options available, such as Falcon’s Call from Zul’Gurub. The period where this item is actually useful is during Phases 1-4.

When the +3% Hit was changed to not apply to melee +hit, the Accurascope lost most of its value. For Hunters, a +7 damage scope will always be more valuable because that is the only direct increase to your ranged weapon’s damage, and +hit gear is available for other slots.

I had an Accurascope on my [Core Marksman Rifle] (“ZOMG DEATHWING SERVER FIRST!!!”) – and what a colossal waste of mats that very quickly ended up being.

Which slots? I find it hard to believe you can get a decent amount of +hit with full T1 or T2.

Tier1/Tier2 pieces, neck, rings (x2), 3/3 Surefooted, Falcon’s Call (x2)… the Accurascope’s +3% hit is not needed to be hit-capped as a Hunter in 1.12.

[Edit: I am not going to waste excessive time weighting an answer on what items are available at which phases – only that the hit cap is possible in 1.12 without the Accuracope, making it functionally obsolete]

Falcon’s Call isn’t available until after a reputation grind in Phase 4. T1 has 3% hit, and T2 has 2% hit. Neck and rings is 2% at most for Hunters in phase 1, unless you include Band of Accuria, which doubles it. So I guess this is just forcing hunters into a single talent build for raiding?

If the Accurascope was changed (ZOMG #NOCHANGES) to something like +1% hit and +1% crit, that might make it debatable over the +7 scope.

Back in day I saw it drop BWL in the room after suppression traps. Only ever seen the one drop. Can’t recall which mob dropped it, but it would have been a wall pack.

umm…yeah. welcome to vanilla raiding >_>

That’s the thing, Vanilla raiding had this Schematic available.

This just reminds me of spending the mats to craft invulnerable mail and I felt like I was the only one with it for a month or so, but then blizzard nerfed it. Atleast it was still decent after the nerf. But 30 arcanite bars was too much for it after the nerf and nobody ever crafted it again.
