I’ve tried to open the Scary Dark Chest in Ringing Deeps a few times on different days now. I light all the candles and it remains locked. I have watched videos and looked it up on wowhead, and I am fairly confident I am doing it correctly.
Update: I went to try again after the weekly reset. I lit all the candles, the chest unlocked, and I was able to loot it.
I’m having the same issue. I have everything lit and it’s still not unlocking. Unless there is another step that I am missing it is bugged.
I’ve tried this multiple times, tried relogging, chest stays locked even after lighting all candles simultaneously.
I had to do it a few times but it eventually unlocked with all candles lit.
It’s bugged on Drakkari
I was finally able to complete this last week so maybe the bug is intermittent?

I was lighting the candles with the help of a horde paladin and horde druid.
We lit all the candles several times and chest never unlocked
I even used Janky’s finest candle for speed buff and chest still remained locked

I flew over to the scary chest today and was able to open the chest without lighting any candles
I’m having the same issues people had at the beginning of the expansion I light all the candles and the chest is still locked anyone else dealing with this late into season 1.
Same issue- last thing I need for the achievement in that area.
Bit of an annoyance it’s still bugging for people this far into the expansion and locking people from earning achievements.
