Anyone still do scarlet crusade RP? My warband is scarlet crusade themed but I have just one issue and that’s my worgen druid. Would the scarlet crusade even take in druids? I also have a death knight that I made that’s modeled after the scarlet onslaught in northrend so that kinda fits at least. But my main issue is the druid. Would the scarlet crusade recruit druids? Mabye I am overthinking but is not nature magic in the lore light mixed with life magic? Lemme know your thoughts been doing some crazy mental gymnastics to somehow make sense of it.
Given the lore behind the Monks in Scarlet Monastery as of MoP, I’m under the impression the Scarlet Crusade would be fine any magic or skill set as long as isn’t blatantly against their faith. I suppose in that case Druidism might be an arguable case, given that Druidism is something of a pseudo-religious profession itself. I’m slightly less inclined to think they’d trust a Worgen in their ranks, but at time of writing I can’t precisely recall why and can’t be bothered to look into at the moment.
I’m reasonably sure ‘nature magic’ and ‘life magic’ are interchangeable here.
I have a problem envisioning them not going for the slaughter the first time they see you wolf out.
I won’t even go into how not a Druid you’d be by joining in with this crowd.
You think so? What about a kul tiran druid? Would you be able to justify that? lol trying to think of any reason a Druid would join the scarlet crusade aside from a mutual hatred of undead.
Give me something hard… Kul Tiran Druids have a tradition that goes all the way back to the Drust Thornkeepers.
Yes.
The Scarlet Crusade would not take in a worgen.
Nor a druid. Both of them are inhuman heretics.
The Scarlet Crusade is not the Onslaught. The Onslaught had death knights because it was much more openly and widely corrupt by Mal’ganis’ having direct influence over it in a way that Balnazzar never had over the Crusade.
There are several instances of Scarlet Crusaders being very opposed to arcane magic and its wielders and as you said Druidism is something of a pseudo-religion in and of itself. In a way moreso for worgen druids as worgen in general turned to the worship of Goldrinn.
They are human supremacists and their reason for being in Gilneas during the reclamation storyline is to cleanse the land of the worgen curse and return the kingdom to humanity.
The hatred of undead might be mutual, but the Scarlet Crusade will always hate that druid too.
Is there anywhere in the lore of the crusade outright shunning druids? I know for a fact at least they have paladins priests mages monks warriors and hunters.
They don’t represemt a nonhuman heathen faith.
yea but if it was a kul tiran druid he would still be human. I just dont see why they wouldnt especially if the druid helped to further their cause.
Outright? Not really, no.
If the druid was a Kul Tiran he’d be a human following a completely different faith that on its own would make him an enemy of the Scarlet Crusade; him not being part of the Scarlet Crusade to begin with is enough for them to be hostile to him, just less in a kill on sight way. The Scarlet Crusade hates worgen for being afflicted with a night elven curse, a curse that originates as a druid form, so we know they equate it with night elves and by extension likely druids as well.
Kul Tiran druids might not have anything to do with night elves, but they are still heathens adhering to non-human ways and shapeshift into creatures that look undead.
The Scarlet Crusade is a human supremacist organisation, but it goes beyond that. They are hostile to everyone that isn’t part of the Scarlet Crusade, and that includes other humans. And it especially includes humans that don’t worship the Light.
What if i would say that hes a druid that also worships the light. Is druidism in wow a faith or a kind of magic?
Those concepts are not mutually exclusive.
They go hand in hand though and wouldnt some aspects of druidism fall under similiar teachings of the light?
It’s both, but leans towards the former. Ultimately that doesn’t change the fact he shapeshifts into a deathly wood animal.
I suppose but is not nature one of the lights many creations?
In the mess that is WoW’s magical mythos Holy magic originates with the Light whereas nature originates with Life.
Absolutely not. Druidic magic is of the Green of the Emerald Dream. It is certainly NOT Holy magic. You are not getting this square peg into that round hole.
IMO: Scarlet Crusade did nothing wrong.
It’s true!
