By the way, while on the subject, let me mention another “classic scam” which I’m sure we’ll here about (if we have not.)
This classic scam goes like this:

A guy is offering to pay 300 gold each, for some item.

You look on the AH, someone is selling that EXACT item, for 250 gold! WOW, HOW CAN THIS BE? How LUCKY!???!

You tell that guy, “Sure, I’ll sell you those for 300 gold!”, having just bought them from the AH.

That guy logged.

You look it up; 250 gold for that item was WAYYYYYY too much. In case you didn’t figure it out yet, the person selling those was that guy’s alt.
That was another “scam” I remember back then. Like various real life email scams, it takes advantage of a person’s greed with a “too good to be true!” scenario.
