But you need to retroactively upgrade all the gear that is dropped from those areas. Hopped on my 57? 58? Hunter to get some mail, decided to jump in to help Tiragarde fight off the Horde(I always take part in those things).
Go take a look at the Burning Blade boss in the cave and he… He has 262,000 HP. My hunter has maybe 12k? When BfA was live, my retnub Paladin was able to solo this mob, and all related content fairly well. The damage scaling has increased as well, so that normal Horde mobs up at Greywatch were easily able to terminate not just me, but my pet too!
Yes, I’m bad at Hunter, but surely I’m misremembering something or this was a fever dream. Then when I slogged through everything and turn in the quests for defending Tiragarde, level 99 boots. Item level 99. The gear isn’t scaling along with the enemies.
Is this what everyone has been talking about in regards to scaling Legacy content? I just thought maybe old raids and dungeons were being affected somehow.

Scaling is broke again. Was fine phase 1 of pre-patch.

This is what happens when they patch in the next expansion’s systems weeks before the expansion is live.
mentioned it in other threads: very strange to have BfA Drustvar’s Blighted Monstrosity (scaled to this character, level 62 1.66M hp) be a stronger mob than Korthia’s Consumption (maxes out to level 60 with 1.5M hp)
but i noticed that mobs in Nazjatar and BE assault zones remain level 50-52
Its not even the fun parts yet.
wait till new player sees the dungeon that needs a certain ilevel. that they will get maybe at 63/64. I see that coming back too.
say hi to SL on non prelude gear/SL for MBFA conversion gear. I ran a new new alt. the finest ilevel 60 gear dungeons could provide.
DIng 51…you can now run Necrotic wake. when you have some ilevel. that quest greens up to that point were nowhere reaching. Edit: this assumes TOF not taken and true story run… which a new new player would have to do.
crafting gear level locked. you could get 1 100+ piece.
and this is why at that point I broke down and got the looms upgraded. I made the alt after next stage upgrade introduced. NOW! I could run NW. yay!
Prior alts were BFA conversions or prelude geared.
The scaling is completely broken right now. Pre-patch phase 1 was working then the 15th came out of and broke everything.

How was it decided to increase ilvls anyways?
I have TW gearsets with half of them upgraded in ilvl and the others untouched. Legion artifacts are also not scaling and you cant even replace the relics.
i just cleared a heroic icc and it was dropping ilvl 115 gear…and i compared it to a 115 piece i had on my BFA level rogue and they were exactly the same stats

damn…they boosted up the iievels. for wrath anyway. That was 50 to 60 ilevel gear in SL.

No, it wasn’t. A simple search of GD will show that it’s been broken since first day of pre-patch.
And the gear that’s dropping for leveling alts during the Primalist Elemental events are around half the ilvl of my heirlooms.
In other words, SNAFU.

Yeah I just started getting gear replacements from Wrath raids I’ve been soloing.
