Say what you want about WoW

At least it isn’t Ship of Heroes or Ashes of Creation!

…and it isn’t Final Fantasy 14.

That MMO is in a dire state. -_-

WoW is the only existing MMORPG that’s actually enjoyable to play. It has a ton of diverse, multi-layered content.

I love WoW at the very least for the fact that it exists — without it, the MMO genre would be total garbage.

It isn’t most games.

FF14 isn’t an MMO but a glorified JRPG with multiplayer elements attached.
I’m willing to die on that hill. :crossed_swords:

WoW is a great game that I enjoy a lot, even after 17 years of playing. there really is nothing like it

also the only two real MMOs left are WoW and GW2 and they scratch 2 very different & distinct itches

Blizzard is hoping Midnight will be a smash hit like Star Wars: Galaxies - New Game Enhancements was!

I completely agree with this. For me it’s a play your way and the content you want and enjoy the game. I think they have done a great job over decades and it shows because the game is still a juggernaut.

I would still like to see a StarCraft MMO or something futuristic to see what they could do with it. Maybe someday.

I will say the WoW events typically have people coming back in droves.

This one is gonna be a hit.

Ashes doesn’t look bad from what I’ve seen, but I obviously still play WOW for a reason… with the only real problems IMO are the lack of PVP participation and the story/lore.

I mean, WoW was in a dire state when I stopped playing it in SL and went to play ShB and EW instead. They both have their ups and downs. But I do wonder if WoW has ever been in a stare as dire as FFXIV is now…

no need to die on a hill if its true. its the “FF theme park” always has been, always will be.

Did something happen with Ashes that you are lumping it in with the complete and utter failure that is Ship of Heroes?

Ashes won’t be for me but I imagine it will start off with a lot of interest.

If you think FF14 is in a dire situation, let me introduce you to 1.0.

FF14 is going to be absolutely fine.

everyone can say what they think about wow.

but besides say guild wars 2.

wow is the only mmo that caters towards every aspect of their playerbase

you got solo casual and hardcore content

there is small group casual and hardcore content

there is easy raid and hardcore content

there is pvp again at all the levels of the spectrum

and for what i see in legion remix. they are testing out harder tiers of world content that offers heightened rewards which i 100% am currently enjoying. fighting harder mobs while leveling hasnt been a thing since classic and maybe burning crusade.

the feeling of not falling a sleep while leveling to the current max level of an expansion is refreshing.

is the story a horrible mess written by a bunch of people that cant write themselves off a single plothole and would rather retcon everything so they dont have to think too hard? yes def. but gameplay wise its as fair as ive seen so far.

I saw people say it’s dipped below 1 million players, but I also don’t know what its peaks are like. At least they’ll always get sub money from people who want to keep their houses. :dracthyr_nod:

FFXIV currently isn’t as dire as SL was, but its unclear if they are willing to devote the resources to it that Blizzard has. It took FFXIV’s success for WoW to get an improved content cadence.

For perspective, FFXI is still running it never had the users current FFXIV has

What do you consider ESO?

I only feel at home when I do the initial quests of the forsaken.

I want more quests related to our race.

War within was just terrible, a bunch of disgusting humanoids from the alliance nothing related to us the forsaken at all and the horde in general, the only forsaken I saw was being devoured by spiders… The ones responsible for the lore nowadays just hate the Horde…

I don’t care about new systems, if the game’s changes aren’t good, if the new expansion is s*cks the problem of wow nowadays is the lore, people don’t feel they are being represented, no one feels like shouting for the horde anymore, they are taking our identity while throwing political stuff on us.

I have said it before and I will say it again:

WoW is the Jack of All Trades Master of None.

Every single aspect of WoW, another game does better. But only ONE aspect. WoW does it all, decently.
