It was the first and only time Blizzard did a fullscale revamp. While some raid tier suffered I think it made Azeroth a better place since the Horde had finally their own place to level queue without fear of being ganked like Stranglethorn and Hillsbrad pre changes. What is at least ONE fond memory you have of the expansion? Start!

I really liked the foreboding atmosphere. It was the expansion that I just could not get enough lore from. I bought all the books, read every blog, listened to all the podcasts, read and wrote fanfic. Totally loved the story.

I had done loremaster just before Cata and then did it again after Cata. I enjoyed the new quests and loved goblins and worgen when they came out.
Raiding throughout that expansion was pretty fun. A lot of my old friends and guildies still played and it was a blast. I was a feral Druid during the Firelands raid and was so proud to have my fire cat form.
I personally think Cata was a good expansion.

Awesome zones. Streamlined questing. Fantastic dungeons. I had a great time in cataclysm. Don’t know what all the whining was about.
Actually I also have some additional nostalgia for that game. Back in 2011 I did my first ever big overseas holiday; USA, Canada and Brazil. Awesome, life-changing trip. Towards the latter half of it though all the datamining for Dragon Soul was going on, and my memories of those armor sets are just entwined in my memories of that trip. The warrior set just reminds me of our apartment in Rio.

I never feel like interjecting myself into Cata threads because I enjoyed the PVE aspect of it. BDK was S tier, that’s what I played at Cata launch and I enjoyed myself. It was basically M+ before M+ if that makes sense.
Grim Batol had that entire flying section and you could skip so much stuff if you knew what you were doing.
Cataclysm at launch felt like a love story dedicated to people who love doing 5 mans. Then it all went to hell. I didn’t play Cata for long and it marked the decline for me until Legion.

I never played Cataclysm when it first came out, so for me this will be a brand new experience and I honestly can’t wait.
Even if it sucks, I want to find that out on my own.

Enhancement shaman totem change (i know many didnt like it), and the Flame Shock spread into Fire Nova for AoE

People complain about Cata because it came directly after Wrath. Most people only hate it because someone else told them to hate it

It made my rogue a total god. The quest for the daggers was great.
The raids were great, the story was good and it changed the world.
Also worgen and goblins.

1.) Zone updates were amazing. Welcome to the Machine is probably the most fun I had questing since I played SWTOR. The Day Deathwing Came is comedy gold.
2.) Transmog. Nothing else needs to be said.
3.) Tier 11 and 12 raiding was fantastic.
4.) Loved all the dungeons, especially the three in Caverns of Time.
5.) New zones were great. All had a specific and enjoyable story line.
6.) You could fly day 1.
7.) Awesome tier sets. Tier 11 and 13 for several different classes are still my favorite. Firelands was a mixed bag though. Some were great, some were hideous. (Hunter set from Firelands is vomit.)
8.) 5 levels. We probably wouldn’t have needed a level squish if they stuck to this pattern.
9.) TAUREN PALADINS I can’t begin to describe how happy this race/class combo made me. To this day my Sunwalker is my second or third favorite alt.
I could have sworn account wide stuff like this was WoD.

It was the first xpac that I made a healing shammy and it was so much fun.
I also remember a funny time I was healing a dungeon on my priest and something funny happened and at that time I had a mouthful of drink in my mouth and spat it out over the keyboard and had to replace it due it being all sticky under the keys. Good times.
