I don’t know if it’s the same guy or not. Paladins seem to actually be good in PvP in classic, actually a reasonably complex class in PvP, not rotation but the situational awareness needed to actually make a difference exists and it’s incredible when a good one is near. Repentance in addition to their incredible base utility is actually surprising.
Rotation on the other hand is basically 2 buttons it looks. Seals and judgments, and RNG, but shockingly effective, I think they depend on stuns and I notice the good ones seem to love hanging out with rogues because their damage is apparently buffed on stunned targets.
It’s an interesting dynamic playing with a good one, but god it’s bad when it’s a bad one. Crazy as it sounds, I think they are a super strong and under rated class for PvP in classic and the bulk of the players are just doing it wrong.
They can burst like mad, I saw a R14 Paladin and he was ret, global a R14 warrior in a HoJ. That’s solid damage no matter the class.
If they had a couple rotation abilities in addition, you could bring them to retail and flat dominate because the base kit is kinda insane.
As it sits now, I would take a Vanilla rogue scaled to retail level over the retail rogue in a heartbeat, the way the damage flows and plays is extremely enjoyable. It would actually be better in retail because you can use more that slice and eviscerate. In classic you can’t use rupture because the debuff cap does not allow, but if it was possible to have a Vanilla rogue in retail even if it’s super soft, it would be incredibly satisfying to play a real glass cannon in the moder era.
