Raided in a top 500 world guild from ToS to CN, during the content drought I decided to switch over to FFXIV as I didn’t like the direction devs are bringing the game and my god raiding is way more fun. You only need 8 people and the cosmetic rewards look better than anything wow has created, and the fights are way harder because there are no addons like DBM or WA that carry players and do the fights for them which is my favorite part. A typical savage boss will be on the same difficulty as a later mythic boss, with ultimate bosses being harder than any boss in wow requiring players to actually be good at the game to clear content instead of being carried by addons.

Glad you are enjoying endgame over there! I see a lot of sprouts in old raids and I think they are beginning to see, judging from the number of deaths, that everything in FFXIV isn’t a cakewalk. Enjoy!
Thats cool, i raided savage/ultimate in ffxiv and have not been able to mythic raid in Wow. One of those reasons being its harder to get 20 people together.
Also “carried by addons”, addons dont do anything for you, they just announce things. In ffxiv its choreographed and super bright.
OR she can play both and enjoy both! And it has no bearing on you, your enjoyment, or the games themselves! Wow!

- makes a topic that is less about enjoyment and more of shilling for another game
They made topics yesterday shilling for WoW. I think they’re just throwing stuff at a wall to see what gets them more attention.
I never said she couldn’t. But coming here to trash WoW’s raiding isn’t the way to do it. And it does have bearing here, because it spreads more toxicity.

Don’t defend trashing the game and spreading vitriol around here.
Addons matter a TON. GTFO screams at you when you stand in bad. DMB counts down the mechanics. That’s just two major differences between ground effects and auditory cues. Also, the ground clutter from player spell effects is pretty substantial over there. Lack of addons is a bigger deal than what you can see.
Hopefully people have fun with what ever they decide to play

You dont need to count down mechanics in FFXIV, there are less of them and they are all on rails. After you learn the fight for either they dont matter.
I think it’s disingenuous to say that the same people would clear mythic without WA and DBM both of these addons and others like them trivialize mechanics.
The constant stream of FF14 threads has convinced me that the forums are pretty much unmoderated.
Nothing shows how little you actually care than letting other companies advertise on your forum for hours before you actually take action
Actually they are moderated, this topic was falsely flagged and it was just restored.
With the addons guilds still had hundreds of wipes on mythic bosses.

I hardly pay attention to DBM outside of dungeons. In raids its pretty clear what is going on. In dungeons on like a fortified week when you have multiple mobs you have to track it can be handy but I dont think its “needed”.
