Satanic guild interest gauge

Greetings! I am here to gauge an interest in a casual theistic Satanist based medium RP, casual PvE focused guild on either the Moonguard or Wyrmrest Accord server. The guild would be bi-factional, we would accept both Alliance and Horde players and the guild would not restrict any class or spec, even Holy and Disc mains are welcome since gameplay matters.

The RP would be light to medium. The RP backstory would be cultish but with a heavy overtone of Satanic and fallen angel worship. I could see many easy to work with avenues of RP. Iā€™d like to find a neutral guild base location. During guild RP meetings weā€™d need to come up with some sort of basic mog layout or regulations in order to keep the RP atmosphere.

The PvE would be casual in nature. I love running keys but donā€™t raid anymore, I would not be interested in leading a raid team.

Satan doesnā€™t exist in the World of Warcraft. If you want the closest equivalent of Satan you should go with Sargeras, and he already has a cult. Itā€™s called the Burning Legion.

Or the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow with its broad conceptual opposition to the strict dogmas of the Church of the Holy Light. Neither are strictly theistic.

Khadgar caused more suffering than Sargeras ever has, consider starting a cult for mage slaying and taking their loot.

I think the Satan equivalent would be the Jailer, but thereā€™s no way youā€™d catch me in a cult worshiping that guy. I feel like they get the beat up and ostracized by the other apocalyptic cults.

Satan is a devil and devils are all about deals and souls and contracts. I donā€™t think weā€™ve met a true devil in WoW, though Bwonsambdi comes really close.

The devil is the End User License Agreement.

I mean, the Original/Dark Horde pledged allegiance to the Legion in exchange for power and the knowledge to turn members of the Shadow Council into Warlocks.

Gulā€™dan made ā€˜a pactā€™ with the Legion and Archimonde went so far as to allow himself to die to hurl the Grand Warlock through the Dark Portal to uphold that pact.

Pacts with the Legion, and presumably with the other Primal Powers, are all binding in some form or fashion. Despite the Frost Wolves refusing to partake in the Blood of Mannoroth, they still assumed a green-skinned form because they were ā€˜partā€™ of the Horde, and thus the pact between the Legion and the Orcs was in full effect. It took longer to affect them due to the lack of physically imbibing that power, but it still happened.

As you said, Bwonsamdi also loves to make ā€˜dealsā€™ and while you can wriggle around a bit, inevitably, you will pay up your end of the contract, one way or another. It was so powerful that even Talanji was unable to resist or remove the pact between her father and Bwonsamdi even after learning the truth of her fatherā€™s actions.

Thus far there doesnā€™t seem to be an ironclad ā€˜you signed on the dotted line now you have to do Xā€™ system like what Settings such as D&D and Warhammer have made ā€˜mainstreamā€™ in modern Fantasy/Sci-Fi, although that could be a fascinating thing to have to deal with, a here-to-fore unknown cosmic species that works to collect debts on behalf of the Primal Powers, and considering how the Champions of Azeroth have mixed and matched Fel, Void, Light, Arcane and even Death over the years to keep their world safe, having a bunch of cosmic entities that are the inverse of the Dreadlords, being unaffected by the Primal Powers rather than able to adapt to them as the Dreadlords do, showing up and insisting on exacting debt collection on the vast majorities of the players, and itā€™s not a financial collection theyā€™re talking about.

And considering everybody has used these Primal Powers, either as class abilities, legendary items or magical relics, thereā€™s a good chance every single Champion, from Mages and Priests down to Rogues, Hunters and Warriors, might be targeted and have to find out a way to get around the unnatural ā€˜nullificationā€™ abilities of the Collectors.

I thought this was a Satin worshipping guild.

I leave disappointed.

Guild like this may have flown back in 2010 during the influx of ā€œThe Light = Christianity, guys!ā€ type guilds.

But I would like to be as far away from Earth as possible when Iā€™m in Azeroth, thanks.

Sargeras is calling and wants you to join the Burning Legion instead, it actually exists in the WoW universe.

This is a humble christian server.

Absolutely false. I donā€™t know why you would say such a thing when weā€™ve already established we are the LEAST humble server.

Thereā€™s no abrahamic cultists on wyrmrest, this where people go to get away from them :stuck_out_tongue:

If you want to found a social/leveling guild on the common OOC interest of Satanism, then thatā€™s no different than other guilds doing the same on the basis of other RL religions and weā€™ve seen them before. Do your thing as long as itā€™s not hurting anyone else or breaking the ToS.

But as for Satanism as a roleplay concept, Abrahamic religions (or their counterparts) donā€™t exist in WoW. As mentioned, Sargeras or maybe the Jailer are your best Lore characters to perhaps build a Satanism-esque WoW religion around but Iā€™d avoid any direct in-character references to the name ā€œSatanā€ all together, as that breaks immersion.
