I have been watching, mining, selling, crafting, playing with saronite and elementium for several months now.
My server is Destromath (new players). There are still plenty of vets on here.
Saronite sells for about 15-25 per ore – bars 30-45
Elementium sells for about 5-15 per ore - bars 15-25.
People try to gouge the market, buy everything, and raise the prices beyond this – but miners usually put an end to that within 2 days maximum.
Saronite, can be transmuted into Titanium, which in turn can make Titansteel.
However, Elementium is from a later expansion.
All the crafted items are stronger than anything one could make in Northend.
On top of that Elementium the most versatile ore I know of.
- Blacksmiths need it for crafted gear.
- It’s also an absolute staple for every Cataclysm engineering recipe.
- It’s the only payment (in the form of 100’s of bars) for some blacksmith recipes.
- It can be turned into “hardened bars” for use and easy storage. 200 hardened bars = 8000 ore! – and only takes 1 slot in your inventory.
- It can be turned into enchanted bars which sell for 1000’s.
- It can be prospected by jewelcrafters who can’t find what they need in the auction house or out in the wild.
- Aside from crafting regeants, some of the jewels you get are necessary to complete dailies to max out your skill bar.
- It can also be transmuted into pyrium with a little volatile earth. Albeit, it’s limited to only 3 bars per day per alchemist.
Anything else I’m missing?
I thought that perhaps inscribers had a use for it?
I know WOW has a weird economy that does not correspond with real life.
However, can anyone make sense of this?
The metals take the same effort to find.
Is Northend just a more popular expansion?
