I can’t include links despite their being an insert link option for the post, but a look at Sapph’s values in WoW classic Database indicates Sapph has 4,691. Where as Therma has, 4455.
Genuinely makes no sense.
The entire purpose of the rune system is to balance these classes, if further nerfs such as armor and bleed resistances is needed the system has failed.
Why even put these in for spell resistance? What’s the purpose of giving us these runes to begin with if you don’t intend for us to be able to use these at their full scale?

They likely designed the bosses to have a high amount of armor then forgot the base game code grants all mechanical mobs to have 2x armor which has now resulted in these extreme armor values. Also everyone at blizz was fired so there is nobody to fix this mistake.

Its just a (rightful) middle finger to melee. Its time for casters to shine.

In a Vanilla setting casters were fine, Mage was a top three dps, Warlock was a need for raids.
As a mele main, I didn’t think casters deserved a middle finger in phase 1 with heavy spell resistance even after they got three expansions straight of being a premiere dps.
That’s what I believe too, all they have are notes and their amateur takes on the game.

I am sure it will get changed. I can’t think of too many mobs that had high resistances in classic if any at all, but BFD started off with 75 to magical resistances which made it quite difficult for caster, because we have to deal with both resist checks and hit chance.
They did state they were going to do a lot of balancing/changes to mobs/npcs because they did recognize that we were going to be way stronger now than during vanilla. Even if there is a lot of mobs with high armor, people are doing 400 to 500+ dps currently as physical melee which is equivalent to that of t1 raid gear at 60.

they want melee, warriors especially, to suffer. that’s the reason. the fact that bringing a warrior to gnomer is essentially a charity case brings people here great pleasure.

The sun has set on the melee empire
Its time for casters to top
More casters will be welcome in Thermaplugg, because melees can’t do as much with walking bombs.
At least enhancement has several sources of non-physical damage, so it’s not quite as bad!
Poor casters, only being premiere dps in Vanilla (Mages) and a pivotal part as well (warlock curses).
Poor casters only being a premiere dps in all of TBC as Warlock/arcane mage reigned supereme and Ele/Spriest was super good, as well as balance was needed.
Poor casters once again only being a premiere dps in Wrath, Fire mage was bonkers, Aff lock and demo lock are massively needed and balance is very good.
Really feel bad for them.
Maybe on the weekends I’ll go donate my time to helping the casters out more.

Top dps at the end of vanilla: fury warrior
Top dps at the end of tbc: fury warrior
Top dps at the end of wrath: yep you guessed it, fury warrior
Wouldnt be surprised if fury warrior takes top dps by the end of ds either
Hoping so!
I just don’t think that the method of balancing should be making physical dps/tanks being useless in fights, sounds like it causes more harm than not.
This is literally Blizzard’s thinking. They 100% tried to make Gnomer anti-melee so that they didn’t have to directly nerf warriors and rogues to remove them from the top parses. And tbf, it worked lmao.

They’ll almost certainly nerf Gnomer Boss Armor just like they nerfed BFD Spell Resist. Like they always do, Blizzard overcorrected with their attempts to give casters a chance to shine.

^ Your typical FOTM player victim, you have no credibility.
I don’t have issues with melee being weaker than casters before being geared, but this does feel like a very artificial way to do it.
No, I don’t play hunter, druid, or shadow priest.
Ye, I don’t really mind if they make casters naturally better with the rune system, but getting awful runes, armor on bosses now the same as naxx 40 and the bleed resistances with super unfriendly mele mechanics just feels awful. Also go Legacy, keep up with you guys here and there on the Era disc.
