So far it fits plague build like a glove. Vampiric Strike has about the same base shadow damage as Clawing Shadows and benefits from Rotten Touch. The damage is there, its not all about the haste buff. The self healing is supplementary, but it adds to the pile from Fallen Crusader, Blood Plague, and Leech to shrug off chip damage.
The movement buff is nice, but I think it’d be better if we were just included in the 20%, 5 second movement buff. To maintain the haste buff, it’d be simpler if Blood Soaked Ground just gave 1 vampiric strike when you cast death and decay. Takes the RNG out of it. The blood golem is also weak - if Blizzard shifted some power from Infliction of Sorrow to those two it’d feel more balanced between the talents.
Otherwise, really pleased with the number of little synergies it has and yes, the way the rotation works out around 45 second burst windows.
sanlayn needs buffs, utility, and animations.

I’m not in love with it, and its simming like 15% below Rider right now. Vampiric Strike is strong enough that wound application is no longer worth considering during your Dark Transformation windows, and I’m broadly not in favor of cooldowns that incentivize ignoring core class mechanics. I’d rather need to think about refueling wounds during my CDs than not, tbh.
Another thing to consider is that Rider raid builds are also just straight up running Clawing Shadows rn, which provides superb disconect damage, and with a lot of its damage coming from summons, getting targeted with mechanics really isn’t that punishing. Sanlayn is quite a lot like Obliteration in that your damage is heavily affected if you have to disconnect during a major CD window.
In dungeons, San has longer legs, but DW Obliteration is honestly just smoother.

I’ve only seen the Blood Ball Monster thing twice so far. But, all the mobs are dead already.
Sick.
