San'layn & Deathbringer Sim Results, Post-buff

San’layn was broken good for a while in Beta
but Blizz nuked it from orbit.

That is sad. I liked the idea of Sanlayn but Deathbringer is just so spectacular. I love the affect of the Scyth a lot.

yeah San’layn was really good numbers wise in early beta. then they just gutted it and are now surprised nobody plays it’s broken worthless husk go figure.

According to Acherus, right now it sims 25% under deathbringer. It’s not even close, maybe after 2-3 more balance rotations of creeping it up there it will make it.

Its kind of annoying how under tuned some of them are. Some are small enough it doesn’t really matter. Like dk though. There is only one realy choice for all 3 specs.

I leveled as sanlayn, but rider is just easier more constant damage.
My war. I am storm. Its been hitting solid for aoe and single. Which makes me glad because I’m not a fan of slayer lol.

BRB let me switch real quick on my blood dk. I thought for sure San’layn was the defensive tree and it probably was tbh before they did those tank nerfs before expansion launched

I find it so weird that deathbringer has a talent that makes blood plague stronger instead of san layn

It is much closer now and with the next patch nerfing deathbringer it will probably be more a taste thing but yea.

Hero Talents were a mistake. Blizzard just doesn’t have enough creativity to come up with cool stuff for as many Hero trees as they needed.

As usual, they thought, “Hey this will be cool for Warriors, Paladins, and Priests” and ran with it. Not even thinking about some of the other classes until a month before the expansion.

Called it last year.

TLDR Deathbringer has a better damage profile too. Even if they were identical you’d prefer DB

Rune Carved Plates is getting nerfed.

San’layn is better. :smirk:

Also no one was talking about high keys. No one wants BDK in high keys anyway, super moot point lol.

?

They’re fine. Not as popular as Druid or DH by any means, but they have representation.

Genuinely curious but how do blood dk’s handle pulling in pugs. It’s like trying to get threat on more than one pack is difficult and your threat generators have CD’s. Usually if I pull one pack and start moving to the second I’m starting to lose threat on the first pack.

Man I wish threat worked like it does in ff14 where tanks keep it easier

Because that’s what matters. If you’re durable enough to do the job, you don’t look to further your survivability. You look to pump those numbers for quick and efficient completion of objectives.

Be smart with Blood Boil and Bonestorm is basically mandatory. I also use Abom Limb to move from the first pack to the next if it’s going to be a giga chungus pull. It pulls the previous one to you obviously. Very useful in Ara Kara or Threads.

People in here are just going to get Deathbringer nerfed more. I guess that’s what they want. Whole lot of posturing. I already committed to Sanlayn, don’t care how behind it is.

Sounds accurate

Like at least 80% of the hero trees.

As usual blizzard rushed content, barely made any real thought or purpose to the hero trees and will be revamping 2-3 per patch and when TWW is at S04, we get it all destroyed again to whatever comes next.

But I keep getting told tanks aren’t durable enough…
:dracthyr_lulmao:

• Enters the thread with a false claim about San’layn survivability
• Spreads misinformation about a Deathbringer talent he didn’t read correctly
• Repeatedly pushes back against people correcting him
• Claims Blood isn’t wanted in high keys, despite data showing otherwise
• Hasn’t even timed a single key or done LFR on his own BDK
• Claims everyone else is just posturing
• Finally admits San’layn is trash, but doubles-down on sticking with it
