Just wondering how you guys think the San’layn changes affect Blood compared to Deathbringer.
Will you keep using Deathbringer, or will the damage buff and moving the proc to Dancing Rune Weapon help sway you to trying out San’layn?

It has a different stat priority so unless it’s significantly better I don’t see anyone swapping over.
As long as Wither Away is a thing, don’t think I’ll be swapping DB on my BDK personally. I think Infliction of Sorrow should do a bit better with more agencies with Vamp Strike and Blood Beast.
They really need to spice things up with the San’layn that doesn’t lock everything behind RNG procs…
Wither Away and Rune-Carved Plates. So much defensive value from those 2 nodes and San’layn has nothing remotely comparable in terms of defense, and the only RNG in DB is if you get the Painful Death proc and get 2 extra Exterminates. And DB is reliable damage, whereas San’layn requires you to constantly be proccing Vampiric Strike and Blood Beast (which I’m convinced doesn’t exist).
Flipside with San’layn you have a 10%(?) chance to proc Vampiric Strike outside of VB windows, and that’s swapping to DRW which will have less uptime when Tombstone and Bonestorm are on CD. At least with VB we can reliably proc it every 40’ish seconds. Blood Beast needs to trigger more often, full stop.
Moving the buff to DRW will actually decrease the uptime of the haste buff. We will lose the ability to keep it rolling indefinitely we currently have with it tied to VB.
That makes it a nerf, which pushes deathbringer even more to the forefront.
I do not think I will be switching bc:
1.I do not like the base design overall to attach offensive CD to defensive CD like BB or DRW.
Glad someone else has figured that out. It works good with vamp blood just need to build around it. now oh well guess we really have no choice whatsoever but to play deathbringer no matter what

WoWhead is putting at a 15-20% nerf which is pretty insane for something that was already behind the alternative lol
That’s too bad. I actually really like the idea of the San’layn talents. And San’layn in general. Draining your enemy to sustain yourself, the blood beast is cool and all that haste is really nice.
It’s too bad that it’s so far behind Deathbringer to be competitive.
Definitely a nerf without any other real changes (and all around flavor fail for Blood). I never understood the people who thought it Gift of the San’layn should be tied to DRW. Uptime is one of the key weaknesses of the tree. Not only does this not help that, but it actively makes it worse.
The only benefit to removing Gift from Vampiric Blood is that it might free up talents that would go into Improved Vampiric Blood (and Rune Tap, depending on build), but that doesn’t really offset the loss of uptime. Plus, I personally like having a Hero tree that makes less favorable talent nodes more appealing.
