After collecting all 7 Spatial Openers to complete the Sand, Sand Everywhere! achievement, I entered the room and began looting the sand piles. Upon looting one pile, the game lagged and didnt complete the looting but did consumer the Spatial Opener. As such, I am now unable to complete the achievement as I am one opener short.

I had a similar thing happen though with mine I ended up having no spots in my bag when opening one and so I couldn’t collect all the items. Sold a few greys to my argent squire and picked up the same pile of sand to which it consumed a second Spatial so I’m one short of being able to pick up all the sand.
I’m wondering how they’re going to fix this for people who ran into this bug already. Until it’s fixed they won’t or at least the GM you addressed my issue when I reported it about 20 hours ago) give you the Spatial Opener that you lost at this time.

Yeah don’t waste your time submitting a ticket for it at all. They apparently know about it but the people who answer the tickets won’t do anything. Ticket system is about worthless in the last couple expansions since they don’t do anything to fix any issues.

Had a full bag so wasted an opener, now I’m also one short

I had the same problem occur, double clicked the sand pile due to lag, lost spatial opener so 1 sand pile yet to claimed, no achievement.
This happened on my main toon, Devilschild, 60 Horde Demonhunter

I had a similar problem too. I was exploring this room with my partner and while looting one of the sand piles, it despawned with an error message “You cannot loot this at this time.” It used my spatial opener, but didn’t give me the items or the credit. I opened a ticket for it, and ironically the GM said this actually happened to them too, but they couldn’t do anything about it while it is still an open bug, and recommended I file a bug report. They said they’ve received a lot of reports about this, so they should be working on a fix.
Guess nothing to do but wait for now. Honestly, I just don’t understand why treasures like this have to despawn at all. It causes nothing but problems and frustration. Just make them permanent until you open them yourself. Other players looting them shouldn’t have any effect on the availability of a treasure for me. I’ve never understood why this is a thing. >…<
Same issue as most people here. My inventory was full, so I did not get the items and my final Spatial Opener was used. I submitted a ticket and received a response that there was no resolution to the issue at this time Instead, I was informed to post my response here and essentially contribute my voice to the list of people affected by the bug so the Dev team would find a solution.
Very frustrating issue that seems avoidable.
just adding my name to the list of people that got screwed over with a full bag and now don’t have a 7th spatial opener to get the achievement. wheeee…
Same issue. Used up all openers on 3 piles cause I had full inventory. ( I never expected the items to be Used up in this fashion, since I have done similar stuff before without using multiple items on 1 thing due to inventory fail )
It shouldn’t be on the player to have a “clean inventory”, especially not when Blizz loves making reduntant things…
Such as Sandworn Relic only stacking up to 250 (and being a bag item in the first place).
Or many other random things you need…
And playing a druid on a higher end doesn’t help since then your bags are stuffed with gear for multiple roles, Food for multiple roles, pots ~, oils ~, Change talents book, Runes…
Really hope they make these able to be recieved after…
This happened to me also. I found it odd, because when I went to reopen a pile, it did not show the “Requires Spatial Opener” that all the piles show before you open them originally. I only realized when I went to open the last pile that I was missing a spatial opener
So, as an update, they supposedly added Spatial Openers to Olea Manu the Jiro vendor next to Firim’s place for 200 cyphers. They are only supposed to be available if you have not completed the achievement. However, they are not on the vendor for me, even though I got screwed out of the achievement because one of the sandpiles despawned while I was looting it and didn’t give me credit for it.
I’d say check now and if they are not available then try putting in a ticket even though tickets are about worthless in this game now. After they released a blue post took like a day or so before the vendor was actually selling them.
If it weren’t for the fact I got next to nothing to spend Cyphers on right now I’d be pissed that I had to drop 200 of them on a replacement Spatial Opener because Blizzard can’t hire competent coders.
Yeah, they still aren’t available there. And yeah, it is really upsetting to me that I have to pay just because they can’t figure out how to make treasures that don’t disappear while someone is opening them. That should never happen. It’s not that I can’t afford the cyphers, but why on earth is there even a possibility to have a circumstance where a treasure that requires a key uses the key but doesn’t get opened? It just doesn’t make sense.
Ok, NOW they finally showed up at Olea Manu. Don’t know why it took a week for them to appear for me, but whatever, I got the last sand pile I needed finally.
