So I decided to wander off to kill the world boss Mor’geth (this does have to do with the raid as well just be patient). As I was making my way over there I died SEVERAL TIMES to elites. Don’t get me wrong I tried to not aggro them and leave them be but I failed. When I FINALLY got over there killed him and then decided to go check out the entrance to the raid dying an additional 3 times oh and losing stygia along the way since there isn’t a way to pick it up without freaken dying again. Blizzard WTF are you guys thinking this expansion there is no alternate route to the raid entrance NO FLIGHT PATH. So here is what I gather you want us to die MULTIPLE times to get to our raid and lose stygia along the way become frustrated beyond no end before the raid even starts doesn’t make logical sense to me.
Yes I know there are people who can stealth and all that crap but not every raid group has that and quite honestly I really don’t think blizzard should force the fact that a group should have that or buy additional things just to get to the damn entrance. FIGURE IT OUT!

this is the most hardcore entrance ever.

It’s really not that hard to get to. It’s a raid that not only is in a zone directly attached to the main city so you can easy get a few group memebers to walk there at once as your not soloing the raid esp if your the type dieing on the way.
It’s rather easy to just run up to it. There is also many alternative ways rather than just running if you want to spend money from invis pots to gob gliders non of that is required thou. Just walking there not afk gets you to the word boss and raid even solo assuming reasonably geared which is a safe guess as the raid requires reasonable gear. While if you truly have issues you are right beside the town and in a raid group if going to a raid so walk with a freind or two.
The maw was not made to be happy fun la l land. It quite literally is hell. It not being a ask walk to the raid is fine and the walk is not even that hard.
This whole thing cements my belief that Blizzard really hates their player base. It is bad enough that you die, but then you can’t even ghost to your dead body, you have to go through all the garbage that killed you in the first place. They could at least have made the mobs non elite so that single players could easily kill them when traveling alone.

this is more immersive. your raid forms in stormwind and you ride together. EPIC.

Honestly it is kinda weird that the entrance to a torghast raid is… not in Torghast. I mean there are 2 unused doors on either side of the twisting corridors entrance. Why not use one of them for the raid? Why have it at the very end of an elite area?

Except it’s not. What happens instead is like 3 people make the run and the rest just wait for summons because it’s annoying to get there.

I’m 99% sure that was sarcasm.
It’s not. This is exactly how Eternal Palace went for us… and there was even a flight point outside it. Half the raid just never bothered to unlock it and needed a summon every night.
You greatly underestimate how lazy humans can be when given the option. This type of thing feels like Blizzard saying to themselves, “Hey, people like Classic. Lets make people travel to the raids like in Classic!” but they didn’t quite think it through.
If you wanna do something like this, don’t put a summon stone in front and don’t allow warlock summons. If not, just stick a damn flight point nearby and don’t put a ton of elites in front of it… basically, keep it like every single raid you’ve had since WotLK.

It’s an annoying area for sure. I got knocked off my mount a couple times and I just killed the elites, which do take a bit to kill. I assume as we get better gear they won’t be that big of a deal.

Even worse was BoD for Alliance in general. The entrance was right there in Boralus and a lot of people couldn’t be bothered moving from the Trademarket area to the entrance. Instead demanding a summon for what was basically a few seconds of travel time.

I’m not disagreeing with you, I’m suggesting that the person you responded to initially was perhaps being sarcastic.
I think pretty much everyone except the odd troll/apologist clearly agrees that inconvenience in getting to the raid entrance is just silly, and not actually content.
My apologies, I thought you were suggesting I was being sarcastic
With regards to the person I quoted, I’m actually not sure. Maybe they are and maybe they aren’t, bit it has been evident to me for a while that Blizzard does seem to be trying to emulate some portions of the Classic gameplay experience in Shadowlands. Unfortunately, they’re doing so without really understanding why those Classic gameplay experiences were things the players enjoy. So instead of improving the Shadowlands experience, it ends up being more annoying.
Either way, the idea of forming your party and fighting your way up to the raid entrance is actually a good one! It’s just wholly defeated not only by current retail game mechanics, but also by well over a decade of player expectation. If this is what Blizzard was going for, there were better ways to handle it.
Getting to the maw boss and new raid is like running the gauntlet.

Throwing my 2c in here agreeing that this is just a waste of time and an extreme annoyance. I’m not sure I’ll bother touching The Maw World Boss ever again, honestly.

It recently occurred to me that it might be easiest to just use the rift to get to the raid since its basically empty in that zone of the maw.
I don’t mind the fact that the mobs are elites, or the long run or anything, but the Maldraxxi Defector’s charge that slows you for that 1 second is the most irritating thing ever put in this game. When I experienced it in Maldraxxus for the first time I wanted to rip my hair out and now you have to deal with it every time you run to the raid lmao.
One of my most vivid early memories of group play was my group trying to get through the area outside of Razorfen Downs to do the dungeon. I love this feeling of moving through a dangerous area to reach the raid.
That said, it will be annoying af after a week or two, and clearly most people are going to start just waiting for summons.
Put some sort of port in, maybe not immediately available to all. Oh, an item you can buy from Venari at exalted with stygia that unlocks a FP from her Maw base? A toy in her rep box that makes a port to the raid similar to the BC timewalking toy that makes a port to Black Temple? A port from the covenant hall directly to the raid for whoever is currently assaulting the Maw (similar to how they have a port to the assault), giving a portion though not all of your raid a port there for easy summons? Lots of options that fit with the Maw and raid theme.
